We arrived late at night and were greeted by the hotel owner who showed us to our room. It was small but everything we needed, nice decor and modern bathroom. We were only in Santorini for a few days but this provided a great base. You have a small fridge, air con, great wifi. I think we had some of the older mattresses as the beds were quite hard but, we were shattered every night so this didn't cause a problem.

The owner was very friendly and the hotel is kept in great condition and very clean. Its around a 10-15 walk into Fira but a walk that we quite enjoyed. There is one very steep slope as you come off the main road to the hotel, it didn't cause us any problems but not great if you struggle more with walking.
All in all, cannot fault this hotel and would recommend for an adventure in Santorini!

We stay at Galatia Villas each time we travel to Ios, we have stayed in many of their rooms, which are always well equipped, to a great standard and the staff are always very helpful, it is a little holly so wouldn't suit anyone who doesn't like a bit of a walk but we think it's worth it.

The villas are about a 10 minute walk to town, but that's ok. The walking was good for us even with a leg injury. Steep driveway and steps to villas but everywhere is hilly in Santorini. The villa was nicely appointed but small. Comfortable bed. The bathroom was barely functional. Very small. The shower tray didn't contain the shower water and every time we showered the bathroom floor, door, etc would have water everywhere. Not adequate. Nice swimming pool and deck chairs/lounges to relax on.

Room Tip: We stayed near pool. In busy months I think it could be noisy.

Stayed in the studio for 3 persons. The hotel helped arrange an airport shuttle for us for 10eur per person. The driver had to wait for all passengers which was a bit of a downer because there were flights that was delayed.

When we reached the hotel, there was someone to greet us even though is was already past midnight.

The room was decently sized but the shower was tiny. There was air con which is defitnitely good.

The hotel is 15 mins walk to town which is okay and not too bad.

Overall, this was a great value for money no-frills kind of hotel. I would recommend it to anyone else travelling on a budget!

Very cute hotel with helpful staff and close to the town. The rooms are very small though! But if you are going to Santorini, I imagine you are going to be out most of the day and night, so this shouldn't be a problem!

Great little family run boutique hotel..nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors..friendly and accommodating. .There are two separate buildings to galatia villas and upon reading some of the reviews before we travelled we were a little worried as some of the reviews led us to believe that this could be a bit of a problem..When in reality the buildings are 20 second walk apart from each other..We stayed in room 15 which is in the block away from the main hotel and the room was lovely and clean and spacious..nice hot shower..room cleaned daily and toes changed daily also..Our room was next to the shared roof terrace area with sunbeds and jacuzzi which we had all to ourself as it was a quiet time when we visited..The pool is in the main hotel building..on our previous visit to santorini we stayed on the caldera for the views.which you pay a hefty premium for but we found galatia villas a great base to discover the island as you are only a 10 minute or so walk into thira town centre or to bus station where you can catch busses which will take you to all the p,aces of info the island..pyrgos is a must..beautiful little village..The cost of staying at galatia villas is just so much value for money..If you want the caldera views you are no more than a 15-20 minute walk away..only thing I would say is if you are not to good on your feet this maybe not be the place for you unfortunately as there is a very steep incline from hotel to main road..but I stress this the only negative I can say about this hotel..We would gladly stay here again..If you opt to stay here or in surrounding area and if you like your cocktails paleakameni cocktail bar is a must visit..which is in thira..ask anybody in town centre and they will direct you there..

Although Galatia is close to the center of town, it is mostly uphill getting there. Make sure to bring a small flashlight if you are planning to walk back to the hotel at night. Our apartment unit was in a different building from the hotel. For the excellent pricing, we had a comfortable one bedroom apartment. We would probably not stay here again because of the uphill walk into town. Instead, we might splurge for a caldera view hotel in another town on Santorini.

Room Tip: Get a room in the main buidling.
