Delightful French bistro. This was our second lunch visit and we loved it. The place was not busy (which concerned us a bit) but the experience and food were so lovely! And authentic. Even the coffee took us back to all the good stuff in France. Our waitress was delightful. We engaged her in conversation (which she had time for because she was not busy). Warm French rolls with unsalted butter. Great wine list (although we don't do wine at lunch). Atmosphere wonderful. French and jazz music played softly. European just suiting our tastes. In-house made salad dressing...again, very European. Not inexpensive, but certainly in line with what we would consider reasonable so close to NYC.

One suggestion. A woman was in the office writing checks (I think). She had to come out to the bar about six times to ask something of the owner. She was dressed in shorts, so each time she walked through the dining room she sort of disturbed the ambiance.

We were served by Bob who knows just which wine to serve. Our meal was delicious. And the fresh bread! I hadn't visited in 3 years and he not only remembered us but asked about our family.
Bob qui a nous servi qui est un connaisseur des vins. Nos plats étaient délicieux. et le pain frais! Nous ne sommes pas venus depuis trois ans et Bob se souvenait de nous et a demandé aprés la famille manquant. To the next visit! A la prochaine visite!

Thought and effort had been put into the menu and the cooking. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and freshly baked bread. There was also a decent wine list.

A tiny and narrow place with limited seating sits in a great location on Main St. in Nyack, however the meal was not memorable. Reading about this place in advance suggested a much more robust offering in Tapas than actually was the case. Ordered the Filet Mignon an the Potato Croquettas. The filet was average at $16.00 but the potato tapa was a waste at $7.00 They had decent wine priced fairly typically at $10/glass. However, the service was non-existent even though this was late afternoon and I was the only person seated at a table. Disappointing

This is a lovely, intimate restaurant and the wine (we had a Malbec and a Douro) was outstanding. Only had two dishes but they were delicious and the bread was top-notch along with strong, fragrant olive oil. I really could not say anything better about the food and wine. Overall, this is an almost-perfect date night restaurant: I have three strong suggestions-
1. Real candles on every table. The overall lighting of the place, and the coziness, just whispers candlelight. Yet there were only a few random battery-operated blinkery fake wax things on one or two tables. Keep those things on the wall and put real wax, with real flame on each table, however you do it. Fake is always fake.
2. While the narrow restaurant was subtly lit, the blinding-bright blue-white fluorescents shone down the length of the place: awful. Being able to see such institutional lighting does not make for a warm atmosphere.
3. Ditto for the cleaning agent scent. I understand you keep the place spotless, and I'm glad. But I want to smell wine and garlic, not Pine-Sol.

I would highly recommend this place for the food; but tapas and wine is also so much about atmosphere. Figure out a way to shield the kitchen lights, get some nice wax burning, and it will be perfect.
