Fieldstone Farm
Reviewed 17 August 2017

We have just returned to NYC from Cooperstown where we saw four operas at Glimmerglass. We stayed at Fieldstone Farm despite leaving our dog in the care of a nice man in the city. Fieldstone was wonderful; there were four of us and we rented bungalows 17 and 18. John the owner has been ill but he still keeps this place going,
It was most comfortable but the place does not have great amenities for oldsters, despite which the place is great especially in the early morning.

Was here in August for the Cooperstown Baseball Tournament and stayed with 6 families from our Team. It is very peaceful and has spectacular views. If you are looking for a place to unplug and relax then this is a great choice. The Wifi is slow or non existent in areas and that is actually a good thing if you want to force yourself to unplug. Don't get me wrong there are areas on the property you can go and signals will work but the need to do that makes you think how important is it really to keep checking your phone. It all has a rustic older charm but very clean and the night time stars are so bright you would think you were looking through a telescope. John the owner and his family are very accommodating and pleasant. I for one would go back to just unwind and relax fishing and hiking on the property.

We stayed while visiting Cooperstown Dream Park for a baseball tournament. Travel time was long to and from the park (approx 30 mins) making it a challenge. Friendly staff but decor and amenities that are dated and a bit run down. Lovely views to be sure.

I stayed in one of the cottages this August. The check-in process was simple and quick. The cottage was immaculate in every detail...clean, beautifully maintained, and fully equipped. The views from the adirondack chair on my porch were breathtaking...I couldn't recommend this gem more highly!

Room Tip: cottages 6 and 7 have the best views

We stayed in one of the large, impeccably appointed cabins at the resort and loved the combination of modern amenities and country quiet. John takes incredible care of the resort, which has a game room, well-kept pool and a fishing pond. He and his staff are helpful and pleasant and extremely knowledgeable about the area. Whether you are a baseball fan, hunter or just want to get away and relax in a beautiful setting, Fieldstone Farm is a wonderful choice.

Room Tip: The cabins on the hill are comfortable and offer great views.

We have stayed here numerous times while visiting family in the area. Owner John is extremely attentive and tries his best to accommodate any special requests. Cottages and townhouses, while vintage in furnishings, are very, very clean!

Walking the grounds is peaceful and picturesque. There are many options for outdoor activities - bbq, pool, pond, basketball court, etc. Internet may be challenging as expected in a rural setting.

Fieldstone Farm is close to Cooperstown and an ideal location for lodging especially for couples or families who want that "camp" style stay.

Room Tip: Internet connection may be challenging in this rural setting.

This is a simple place, but the owner, John, has refurbished some of the cottages, including the one we stayed at. There is no wifi on the premises, in spite of various promises to get it. The views and the farm country are as splendid as ever. This is a wonderful place.
