I have been visiting Rochester frequently for business and decided to stay within walking distance to my work location.

Last night of a three day business trip decided to treat myself to a nice dinner and wine... very pleased with the food options and the quality of the food served.

The bar was very well attended for happy hour. It had a nice vibe.

Th bread was fresh and the dipping olive oil vinegar, parmesan cheese pepper flake mixture was on point.

My Caesar Salad with sirloin tip although sounds boring was anything but. Perfectly cooked season tips and oh so tender, homemade garlic croutons.

I also had their calamari that was tender and cooked to perfection that came with a jalapeño dipping sauce.

Thank CBiasi

Our visit to Grappa was disappointing. We wanted a restaurant that had some healthier options on their menu - like pasta or pizza with vegetables. We started with 2 appetizers: Zucchini chips and greens and beans. The zucchini chips were not crispy but soft and like bad fries, tasted like grease. The greens and beans, typically a healthy option on many menus tasted like they put a stick a butter in the dish. But the escarole was very good.

I was so excited to see ricotta gnocchi on the menu for this gnocchi is a much lighter option that potato. It also came with brussel sprouts. But the Parmesan cream sauce was so heavy that you couldn't taste the gnocchi. Not a good choice for such a wonderful pasta.

The fettuccine carbonara (without pancetta) didn't have much flavor excpet for butter. Additional Parmesan cheese helped. We asked for asparagus in place of the peas but the peas still came and we didn't want to send it back. And there were so few pieces of asparagus. So not so healthy options after all.

It's too bad they feel like they need to cook with a ton of butter in order for things to taste good.

Went her for a birthday dinner last week, we were very impressed. Started with fried calamari as an appetizer and moved on to a delicious main course. Linguine and clams, salmon, and veal parm were very good. The service was fast and professional. We will definitely be back again.

A very convenient choice for the hotel guest but there is some many more local choices in the area. Rochester has a nice collection of local Southeast Asian food choices that eating in a frankly a waste.

We had lunch today at Grappa which is located in the Hilton Garden Inn in Rochester, NY. It is an Italian restaurant. As we were visiting at Strong Memorial Hospital, it was within walking distance. We ordered off the luncheon menu. One had the beet salad and Italian wedding soup, two had a chicken panini and I had pasta carbonata. We all drank tap water which was at room temperature and without ice. The service was adequate but rather slow. Our lunches were okay, but there was nothing outstanding or remarkable. With tax and tip, lunch came to $105.00.
