Clean and Well-Maintained Hotel

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 30, 2022
Stayed for a night during a SPAC Concert. Very clean room and maintained landscaping. There is a pool that was very clean as well as 2 barbeques and an outdoor pavilion for the patrons. They also had a Continental Breakfast available during the Saratoga Horse Racing Season which included doughnuts, muffins, hot and cold cereals, bagels w/ cream cheese, fresh watermelon, apple and orange juices and coffee. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise as it's not mentioned on the website. Staff was pleasant and friendly. A great Stay less than 3 miles from SPAC.

The room was clean and smelled good. There were laminate floors which I really like in a hotel room. The rooms have a cabin look to them. The property was well manicured with a lot of flowers. The bath was quite small but functional. The AC was barely functional. No breakfast was provided. The bed was ok.

My wife and I stayed 1 night, arriving after 1 PM. The nice owner processed our registration and issued the key as the room was prepaid. I backed the car to #16; wood floored with 2 queen beds, a low drawer unit to hold our suitcase, wall TV(full channel guide), small table and chair, small microwave and refrigerator(no coffee maker) and small bathroom with small shower (active ventilation).
The open room WIFI was sometimes slow, the small window AC was not used(wall control for heat) and lobby coffee available at 7:30 AM. There is a convenience store/gas station with an ATM across the street and a Hannaford Supermarket 3 miles north.
This old style 18 room roadside motel has well maintained grounds with a small pool with little road noise in the back, but is expensive in season at $135/night.

Neat, clean, comfy beds, lots of chairs and tables and grills for spending time outside. The pool looked really inviting though I didn't have a chance to go in. Some nice decorative touches to the rooms, too. Bonus points for ultra modern plug amenity for all my gadgets! Can be noisy because of the road in front, but walls between the rooms are solid. Had to run the A/C one night and was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. The family that owns and runs this place is really friendly. This is a great budget stay option close to Sarasota Springs and the lesser known but very cute Ballston Spa area. I highly recommend this place if you enjoy supporting independent businesses with character.

The room was very clean (even under the bed!), which during a pandemic is extra important. The price seemed a little high compared to other budget motels we've stayed in though perhaps thats bc of its proximity to Saratoga Springs.
The toilet cubby is quite small which wasnt a problem for us but if you're a broad person, you may have difficulty.
It was overall quiet and peaceful though I suspect thats largely due to the neighbors we happened to have as well as it being off-season. There is a train nearby and noises seem to get amplified by those doors every hotel/motel seems to use (solid core doors would be far better for hospitality imo).
Even on the back, the window treatments were not sufficient for blocking light (and there was a space that could be peeked through from the outside) so we threw a lap blanket over it that we had in the car which solved both problems beautifully.
I felt safe here and really liked the setting; there's plenty of trees and lawn space to enjoy while sitting in one of the doorside chairs drinking some coffee conveniently obtained from the Stewarts shop nearby.

Owners are friendly and helpful. Room was cute and clean with mini fridge, cable tv, air conditioner and microwave. Pool is fantastic and is kept private from the road. Price is reasonable for the area.
