NEVER AGAIN.We had stayed at this B&B for years, but the new ownership changed the place forever and it will never be worth it again.

My wife and I arrived at 7 PM on a very busy weekend. We made a reservation 6 months in advance and paid a $350 deposit. Due to the change in ownership they decided not to honor our reservation.

After travelling 4 hours, (she is 6 months pregnant) we arrived , but they turned us away! They rudely announced that their policies had changed, but never notified us via phone or email of the change. Who ever heard of a B&B owner that would be rude to a confirmed guest reservation and then close the door in our face without even offering to help us find alternate accommodations.

Apparently, the property was sold in the interim and the new owners changed a pet policy but never informed us until we arrived.

We would have been fine with it had they called us ahead of time to let us know. But they didn't. They should have simply recognized the situation( and my wife's condition, and honored the reservation. To be so uncaring and to not honor a paid reservation under the circumstances was bad business.

Stay at the Sherwood Inn or their B&B just up the street.

Our hearts go out to you. While we understand your disappointment, this was an innocent mishap as a result of the change in ownership. Due to allergies, we are no longer a pet friendly B&B. As we calmly explained to you, your reservation was taken by the previous owner. The B&B was “pet friendly” when we purchased it, and the owner required prior approval for all pets. Additionally, all pets were charged a “pet fee”. Upon purchasing the B&B, we did a search on every reservation for all those with a “pet fee” and contacted every one of those reservations to let them know about our new policy. Unfortunately, there was no required “pet fee” on your reservation. Either you never contacted the owner for approval, or the prior owner neglected to add the pet fee. After reviewing your guest folio, I see you stayed here only one time 2 years ago. A lot changes in 2 years. Our no pet policy is a boundary that for some reason you felt should be allowed to be crossed only by you. We remained calm while you repeatedly threatened us with “ruin on all social media” platforms. We listened and let you angrily retaliate with hostile threats, such as “this will cost you tens of thousands of dollars,” and “I’m happy you are the new owners because I’m going to ruin you,” until you finally walked away. We would have happily let you sit on our porch and assist you in finding another reservation had you not become so angry, hostile and verbally attacking. Your deposit was refunded immediately and we were happy to find out that you did find a place to stay. Dave & Brenda

Wonderful old Victorian home run by very friendly owners, Doing and Bre,da. The house has been recently renovated inside. It is very clran, and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was wonderful, tasty and way too much to eat.

This classic B&B has it all !! No better location in town...all the shops, eateries, watering holes and park steps away from their wrap around porch loaded with rockers and comfy chairs overlooking the park & lake.
This establishment is meticulous loaded with charm - main floor of the B&B has a expanded living room and TV viewing area with ample seating- our bedroom had a remote controlled super comfortable bed with a private bathroom which was freshened up daily. Proprietors Brenda & David are over the top service oriented and get ready for a generous gourmet style breakfast in the mornings that will carry you to dinner. Parking is no problem as their driveway can handle several cars and on street parking is a breeze.
Our stay was for a total of 4 nights with this being the first B&B experience for my wife and she loved it. Can't wait to return to the Lady of the Lake B&B for the fall foliage in September/ October..

Lady of the Lake was the first place I called to inquire about a B&B in Skaneateles. Brenda was kind and thorough in explaining the differences in the 4 rooms. It was across a quiet street from the park, lake, swimming area, pier, and boat. We walked to many shops, restaurants, and museums. In fact we only moved the car to visit relatives in Syracuse!

We stayed in "The Mary" which had a very comfortable Tempurpedic queen bed, AC, two recliners and a wall of windows with a park and lake view. The bathroom had a shower and a very large vanity and luxury towels.

We absolutely loved the porch with the swing and many wicker chairs-- just right for relaxing with morning coffee or an evening glass of wine!

Brenda and Dave, the new owners since April 2017, have made many wonderful updates! They live there as well and could not be more accommodating. You will love them and their gourmet breakfasts!

We have already booked a return visit at the end of the summer and will try out "The Loft" which has a king bed and large sitting area. We were happy to find this gem and meet the hard-working owners!

This B&B just opened with new owners! We were some of their first guests and all of us were very impressed.

Pros ... Owners were everything you could want from B&B hosts- polite, attentive, helpful, organized, thoughtful, etc. Breakfast food was truly top notch- multiple courses, cooked fresh, all tasted absolutely fantastic. Rooms were spacious and tidy; beds were comfortable; bathrooms were clean and stocked with basic toiletries. Big selection of tea/coffee outside the bedrooms. Located less than a 5 minute walk from the restaurants, shops and lakefront in town.

Cons ... Limited parking in the back (not a huge problem, there was usually street parking).
