“ Our new Fave!”
Review of Red Zebra

Red Zebra
Price range: US$15 - US$45
Description: Red Zebra is taking a modern look at Italian food with produce from our local farm partners. Hand-cut pastas, delicious sandwiches with fresh baked breads, Italian small-batch wines, craft cocktails and micro beers from US and Italy. All of our pastas, breads, stocks and sauces are made in house. Our food, like our favorite tomato, is beautiful on the outside, deep and flavorful on the inside. A striped beauty with no equal.

We tried Red Zebra last evening and had a wonderful dining experience. Everything about the restaurant is first rate, including the decor, lighting and general ambiance. Our meals were delicious (homemade pasta with shrimp with olives and the lobster ravioli). Nice selection of wines and a larger than expected bar area for such a small restaurant.
My only recommendation would be to have something with chocolate on the limited dessert menu.
Reservations are recommended, especially if you don't want to eat at the bar. Not a family restaurant, so leave the kids at home with a babysitter.
We hope to return very soon.

Red Zebra is not your typical Italian restaurant. Although it offers some traditional items such as hearty lasagne, it also offers a surprise to the palate with unique flavors and uses local food sources. The ravioli was full of tender pieces of buttery lobster. I am not huge fan of brussels sprouts, yet the salad was outstanding, with crunchy almonds, a touch of saltiness from the cheese and freshness of the lemon. Red Zebra is a refreshing change and delivers an experience on par with some of the outstanding restaurants found in NYC. Enjoy!

We ate here for the first time this week and were surprised how good the food was. Definitely worth exploring going back to explore the menu. Thank you to the staff.

As my wife and I support all the local restaurants in Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown and the surrounding area we wanted to visit the newly opened Red Zebra. We understand that it is owned by the same owners of two other local restaurants which we visit often. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by the host or owner who did not seem interested if we were there. So we ate at the bar instead of the dinning room. The bartender and her assistant were very pleasant, but clueless when it came to service. The restaurant menu which is also available at the bar is quite limited. It features a few appetizers, Italian style Tapas, Pizza and "Hand Cut Pastas" along with a few entrees. The appetizers recommended were their signature meatballs and the charcuterie and cheese plate. For starters the 3 golf ball size meatballs were tasteless and as hard as could be. The sauce that accompanied them tasted like it came out of a can although it was probably made by the Chef. The Charcuterie and cheese plate was somewhat edible with the exception of the Capocollo which was all fat and inedible. The Kale "Caesar" salad was disappointing, also with no flavor. For our entree we shared a " Hand cut fresh pasta"dish. Fresh pasta is one of our favorite things as long as the sauce compliments the pasta. In this case it was tasteless so we left more than half in the plate and asked for the check. Probably one of the worst meals we have had in a long time. Not sure they are capable of getting their act together.
