We arrived after the house was closed, but grounds were still open. That is usually just fine with me because I am not big on the house tours. I would rather read the history and take in the period architecture. However, the parking was located in what felt to me was too isolated. It would have been fine if other people had been around. We looked around the house and then went back about a 100 yards on a trail behind the house because we could hear a running river. I took picture of the river and then noticed there was a bench off to the right with a couple of young guys sitting on it. Left quickly. It was worth the trip, I am just saying that you need to be aware of your surroundings here if there aren't other sightseers milling around.
