My husband and I wanted to get away for a few days but didn't want to drive very far and it was too late to buy plane tickets. This was a 3-hour drive from where we live. It was worth every penny we spent there. Beautiful suites, pool, hottub, work-out room. Many restaurants on resort made it easy to eat different types of food every meal. We did gamble a little each day, and ended up on the winning side. Bonus!

I had read other reviews before going - some mentioned staff not being helpful/friendly. We saw the opposite -- every person on staff was more than helpful and extremely friendly. From the person that valleted our car to the person serving us drinks at the sports bar and everyone in between - they were excellent.

The only bad thing I have to say is I didn't like the scent of the conditioner supplied. I know that is a small/insignificant thing, but I really didn't like it. The bathroom was awesome though, along with the rest of the room.

We are already talking about returning in the summer for a golf trip.

Room Tip: We were on the 1st floor and loved it.

I recently stayed at the The Lodge for a special occasion and could not have been more pleased! Our suite was absolutely lovely with a huge flat screen tv, a balcony with a great view, a dual sided glass fireplace and awesome bathroom. It was one of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in. Immaculate and gorgeous!

I didn't even want to review this property for fear the secret would get out. But alas, something this good should not be kept to oneself. We booked the lodge for a 2 night spa getaway at the end of March during off season. It was perfect for a relaxing, hassle free escape from bustling NYC. This place is literally in the middle of nowhere. After a pleasant drive thru farmland, the huge casino and hotel emerge out of the tranquil landscape as beacons of civilization. Apprehensive about staying at a casino resort (not much of gamblers), we were pleasantly surprised to find the lodge was a completely separate building with a completely different feel. Rusticly elegant and refined, the Lodge was splendid. The room felt like an upscale luxury NYC apartment with modern touches and a large balcony overlooking the countryside. The bed was sumptious and we slept like babies. The service was as expected from a luxury hotel. We got a package deal which included a spa service. The Skana spa was delightful and expansive. Lunch service right in the spa area was not only convenient but served in a light and airy room with huge picture windows overlooking the grounds. I could have stayed in the spa for a week! Dinner at the hotel was exquisitely prepared and the service outstanding. Overall an amzing deal for an amazing place. Cant't wait to go back!

In a word, bliss! From the beautiful decor, to the evening turn down service, the luxuriously deep tub and adjustable dual shower heads, the balcony overlooking an expansive water feature and outdoor fire pit - there just aren't enough wonderful things to say about this hotel. It is separated from the main hotel and casino so it is quiet and tranquil. The pillow top mattress and feather beds are the height of comfort. My husband and I have traveled extensively (overseas and stateside) and this is by far one of the nicest accommodations we have ever stayed in. Its pricey, but worth every penny!

Room Tip: The bridge to the casino is on the 2nd floor. To add to the serenity and avoid the foot traffic head...

We have stayed at the Lodge repeatedly over the years, and almost always really enjoyed our stay. It is really expensive, but very nice. If the market pays, what can you do. The rooms are swanky, very roomy, and the pool is wonderful. And in the past service was great. However, I feel things are changing now.
1. You are not allowed to bring in any form of alcohol. You used to be able to bring wine in, and take it to the restaurants. Now you can't have it in your room. I have stayed in hotels across the country, and never heard of this anywhere. I travel with family when at the stone, no rowdy parties, just want a drink when preparing to go out for the night.
2. You get one price on their web page, but they won't match it when you call. We needed multiple rooms, and when we called they argued about the price on the web page. I have never called a hotel reservation system and have them refuse to match an offer. They lost out on three rooms for two nights that weekend. Could be wrong, but in the past seemed they would bend over to please, now they don't need to, I guess.
3. I know this doesn't apply to just the lodge, but now that you can't bring your own wine to the restaurants, the cost of eating at any of the sit down restaurants seems really high for what you get. The food is good, but in my opionion not worth the cost. When you could offset the price with a bottle of your own wine, it was worth doing. Now, I am not sure.

It is a lovely hotel, and once there, most service is good. I just feel things are changing at the Stone, and I'm not sure it is friendly as it once was.

We apologize that your stay was not as enjoyable as on past occasions.
As you are aware, we are no longer a dry casino. Upon this change, our policies in regards to alcohol were required to change, in reflection of the services now offered.
Typically, our reservations department is empowered to match rates offered on our own website. We apologize that this did not happen, and for any confusion this may have created. Thank you for taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention.
