My husband and I did the two day Mount Toubkal climb with Trek Atlas in April of is year. Beginning to end our trip was absolutely incredible.
Our taxi to imlil arrived at our Riad promptly at 9:00am and we were chauffeured by Omid, the Worlds most cheerful taxi driver. Upon arrival we were introduced to our guide Mohamed (later known as Big Mo the hero) and chef. Time was taken to explain the trip details at length so we were comfortable with proceedings and then ready and eager we set off.
The first day climb to base camp took us 4 hours and was a wonderful mixture of delightful views, refreshing orang juice stops at local vendors and lots of sweat!
After arriving at Base Camp Big Mo explained the set up before heroically running off to rescue a fellow Trekker from the summit of the mountain who had fallen and broken his leg!
After a half decent night sleep we set off to the summit at 6am and thanks to the skills of our amazing guide we were up and back down from the mountain top in a pretty decent 4 hours. After a quick lunch stop we continued on our way and were back in Imlil safe and sound... If not completely exhausted, by mid afternoon.
Our guide Mo undoubtedly made our trip, he was fun, energetic and set a pace we were challenged but comfortable with. The food was fabulous, (be sure to ask for a lunch stop off next to the waterfall) and everyone we came into contact with, both fellow travellers and guides were friendly, helpful and in great spirits. Book with Trek Atlas, you will not be disappointed.

The most striking thing about Hassan is his smile. He gave us a wonderful experience of a country which is best navigated by someone with sound local knowledge. He was very well informed and proud of his Berber roots and of his country. He spoke excellent English and was happy to answer all our questions.
Hassan picked us up from the Riad on the day we went to Essaouira and we were driven safely by Omar his driver. We stopped at an Argan oil cooperative on the way and later were given plenty of time to explore the city in the sunshine. . Essaouira is a lovely contrast to Marrakech where we were based as it has a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful beaches. They were both patient, excellent company and didn't complain even when we were singing in the back of the car.
As we wanted to swim Hassan took us to a quiet beach on the way back and even though we were the only ones in the sea we enjoyed it immensely. We had a nice relaxed lunch in a busy restaurant near the beach and having had a thoroughly positive experience we were dropped off safely in Marrakech later that evening.
I would recommend a Guide for anyone wanting to explore Morocco. A Guide with local knowledge is invaluable as he can take care of all the hard work and hassle leaving you with a positive holiday experience

We were walking in the paths of Imlil, when we met Hassan doing some construction work. We never met the guy and he greeted us from the roof he was on, and after a warm invitation from his end to join him for a tea at his house we were having Berber tea and biscuits with his family. This was totally random and after the initial thought that this was going to end up in another bitter Morocco experience were you are forced to buy something which you don't want, it ended in a very nice experience were we chatted for about 2 hours. Hassan was not looking for our money, but instead for a nice conversation with tourists whom he loves to spend time with. We had the chance to have a very deep and honest conversation on the Berber life and the Moroccan culture. Hassan is a genuine guy. Its a pity we got to meet him at the end of our holiday, I would have booked my tours with this guy.

In our holiday in Morocco in December, we decided to skip the cities and concentrate on seeing Morocco's natural sceneries. Hassan from Trek in Atlas was our guide for 6 days and he's brought us to the Sahara and the Atlas. He was excellent and knowledgeable of the places we visited, which we expect every guide to be. But what was different with Hassan was his genuineness to make us happy and comfortable during the tour.

There were 3 things he did for my wife and I, which we thought were outstanding. After our camel ride back to the hotel from the desert camp where we stayed for a night, he managed to reserve us a room and a bathroom to have a hot shower and get dressed whilst all the other guests only had a communal basin to brush their teeth. On our trek in the mountains, we started feeling hungry and came across another couple doing the same trek who stopped somewhere for a packed sandwich prepared by their guide. He asked us if we were feeling hungry and a few minutes later, we stopped at beautiful spot by the river and we were surprised to see a picnic already prepared for us, not just a packed sandwich but a complete meal with couscous and tagine! Lastly, on my birthday, he bought me a cake from a very little town. All these things he did without any instruction but he did because it was what Berbers like him love doing.

The only thing to be aware of is that the amenities in the places we visited were very basic and that's just because of the remoteness of the desert and the mountains. But with a guide like Hassan, you would just be relaxed knowing that everything has been taken care of.

Unforgettable trip to the Merzuga desert from Marrakech with our guide Hassan and driver Omar.

They met us at our Riad prior to Day 1 departure to go through our trip, greet us and make sure we knew where and when to meet in the morning. Hassan also came in the morning to collect us and take us out of the hard to navigate medina to start our trip.

Hassan spoke good English and was very friendly and flexible with our itinerary and any requests that we had. He is passionate about his job and comes across as a reliable guide. Our driver Omar was also a safe driver and entertained us through out the long drive with his singing.

We were amazed by the highlight of our trip - the Sahara desert and overnight stay in the desert. It is well worth the long drive to get there and see the high sand dunes and the vastness of desert.

Food stops along the way was all very delicious and hygienic and so was the accommodations.

I would highly recommend Hassan and his team to anyone who is thinking about doing tours in Morocco. We will surely be back for another trip in the future!
