The convenience of its situation and the middle eastern decor inside this boutique hotel with the roof top massage parlour makes this place a nirvana to return to. I am just waiting to return to Zanzibar to enjoy this place.

I have not yet slept there or had any meals there as it was still going through a final touch up, however I have visited it many times whilst in stone town

Room Tip: I did not get a chance to sleep there as it was not ready yet.

Jafferji House & Spa is the perfect location for a relaxed and luxurious holiday on the beautiful island of Zanzibar!!

We stayed in the Princess Salme Suite - and felt like the Princess herself! The suite is beautifully decorated, a reminder of Zanzibar's past during the Sultans time.
The Suite is very spacious with lovely antique furniture, all unique. And the most amazing, comfortable bed you can imagine!! I did feel like an arabian princess in the large four-poster, in crips white sheets and surrounded by luxurious materials.

The bathrooms are spacious with everything you could wish for - including the Spas own brand of toiletries, all made of only natural products and with the most amazing aroma.

The owner of the hotel is a famous Zanzibari photographer, Javed Jafferji, who converted his own family home into this little gem of a place.
His stunning photographs are everywhere around the hotel, from landscape images of Zanzibar, models and even political portraits - a true artist with an eye for the aesthetically pleasing!

The hotel is situated right in the middle of the hustling and bustling Stone Town on Gizenga Street, just behind the Old Fort - the perfect spot for sightseeing in the Old Town or a little evening walk to Forodhani Gardens and the famous Night Market.

We absolutley LOVED our stay and would return anytime!!
Thank you to the lovely and very helpful staff as well - great people, all of them!!

An integral part of a successful vacation stems from where you reside. A welcoming management coupled with a great location helped us achieve just that. I would like to thank the entire team for making our stay so very pleasant.

A must in Zanzibar! Situated right in the heart of Stone Town, this boutique style hotel will take your breath away. Each room is well appointed and very comfortable. The ambiance truly sets this place apart from the rest. Take the time to view all of the pieces of artwork that are tastefully placed throughout the hotel. Don't forget to walk up to the roof top spa which will make you feel like Arabian royalty. Staff are courteous and very helpful. Food in the restaurant is also quite good.

What an immersion into the Zanzibar fantasy, the Jafferji House is an amazing creation where it is evident that somebody designed this small boutique hotel with passion and a great deal of feeling for Zanzibar. As soon as you walk in, the quality is evident, but the style, the magic is beautiful. If you want a few nights in pampered luxury as well as being lost in the historical charm of Zanzibar, then I would really recommend a few nights here while you are in Stone Town. This one place that has got it really right, the magic of stone town surrounds you here, and engages you one on one.

Room Tip: I was at the top, I think because they are all different and have a different magic and charm, you w...

If you are looking for a cozy, charming spot with excellent food and a Scheherazade atmosphere in the heart of the Stone Town, this 'house' is what you want. With the magic of a place which was lived and loved for many decades, this home, even after the attentive restoration, has maintained the bizarre oriental architecture on the African coast, with staircases and windows and doors which open more doors and corners that hide even more intriguing woodwork. The colors are warm, the woods polished, the rooms creative, the food is exotic, but the spices are subtle and gentle, the rooftop SPA a picture out of a coffee table book...hmmm...what else...ah yes: just longing to go back for more!!
