Description: Tobey's Donut Shop is a third generation, family owned business. All donuts are hand made fresh every morning using the same basic recipes and techniques as my Grandfather used at "Tobe's Bake Shop" on Franklin Street in 1952. We sell donuts made fresh on the premises daily, limited cookies and pastries. We also have breakfast sandwiches made fresh to order. Beverages are: Fresh hot coffee, cappuccino, hot cocoa, assorted juices, sodas, milk, sports drinks, energy drinks, bottled water, etc.. You can sit down and eat here, inside, on the patio, or at one of the small 2 seat tables on the 4th street sidewalk where smoking is,(for now), still permitted. Larger orders of 2 dozen or more should call and order 24 hours in advance, if possible, as we sell out quickly some days and may have a very limited selection remaining. This is a recommendation and not a requirement!

“Breakfast is great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 October 2011

Friends told us to go to Tobes for their hot dog lunch special, but we had our sailboat in the Village Marina, 2 minute drive away, and our grandson, Jordan, was really hungary for breakfast, so we walked in to a half filled busy place. The breakfast fare was, well breakfast fare. Everyone ate their fill, and Jordan enjoyed his pancakes with chocolate chips. Can't beat the price. I think I paid for 3 of us what I have paid for myself at big hotel restaurants.

“Rude Owner (Manager)”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2010

Went here with a large group. The owner or manager yelled at the waitress right in front of us for allowing us to have our tables together in the back room. The waitress was excellent in meeting the needs of this large group and handled the owner's rude outburst in a more professional manner than he handled the situation. While the donuts are delicious, we did not return to this restaurant again.

“The only place for breakfast...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2010

Tobe's is known for homemade donuts and breakfast. We always stop there when we come up to Seneca Lake for the wineries. It is a small, local joint, but the breakfast is great! Try the Tobe's Scramble.....the powdered walnut cookies also look good! Service is prompt, the prices are great, and the owner comes out from the kitchen and asks if you need more coffee.

“Great Service, lousey owner.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 January 2010

So I got some ice cream there on race weekend, after the big grand prix was rained out. The poor lone worker had to deal with drunk red necks who were mad about the race being cancelled. She was as helpful, but the dumb owner forgot to stock up on ice cream before the weekend.

“Good breakfast, great donuts!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2009

Breakfast was basic and good. Service was a bit slow, but only because the lone waitress was overworked. She occasionally got some help from a guy who appeared to be the owner.

The highlight: the cinnamon donuts. Now, that's a donut! None of the yucky, sickly sweet airbags that places like Krispy Kreme krank out. Go early; they sell out of these.
