The photos don't do justice to Wisteria Cottage. It is a very beautiful and serene home. Every detail has been well thought out and lovingly decorated. The bedroom/living room is very comfortable for 2 people. The kitchen is quite small, it would be a squeeze for 2 people to be in it together, but it is amazingly well equipped, we didn't lack for anything. The grounds are just stunning, very well maintained. At sundown you can watch the migration of the local bat colony as they head out at night for food. Amazing to seee these thousands of bats flying over your head! The hospitality of Lyn and Jeff is outstanding, they do absolutely everything possible to make your stay enjoyable.

Normally, I am not keen on B&Bs, but our stay at Wisteria Cottage for two nights was delightfully memorable. Bellingen is a lovely town on the Bellinger
River in an absolutely idyllic valley about 10 minutes off the Pacific H'way, 27ks south of Coffs Harbour. The hostess Lyn, puts her heart and soul into providing a wonderful olde worlde accommodation, comprising a one-bedroom, free-standing cottage festooned with wisteria and with modern and fastidiously clean and stylish amenities, including a fully equipped kitchen and lounge with quality TV and DVD player (with DVDs). It is located within a short walk of the High Street and its shops and cafes. However, as it is just one cottage and well priced, a bit of planning is advised as it does attract regulars. It is a great base to explore this wonderful area of NSW, from the high country of Dorrigo to the open and deserted North Head Beach to the river villages of Mylestom and Urunga, where the Bellinger River meets the sea.
