Description: The Cape Lodge Restaurant is described as one of Australia's finest new generation dining establishments. The menu features seasonal local and home grown produce plucked from nearby oceans, local farms and our kitchen garden to create fresh innovative cuisine. Our wine list is extensive and features both back vintages from Margaret River's great wine estates and other Australian and international wine regions.

Not only was dinner fantastic and the exec chef and his team seemed to always be smiling, but breakfast was pretty good too !!! The poached eggs were perfect and to see the chef collecting the herbs / veggies from their own garden was brilliant.

On Monday there was a limited bar menu served at your coffee table. Eating a steak was very difficult when the restaurant tables were set and vacant.
The kitchen seemed obsessed with pepper, native or otherwise which overpowered some of our dishes. On our last night we felt we had to specifically ask about pepper on our dishes.
On the up side, the marron was delicious and other dishes were cooked perfectly. The wine list is excellent as are the sommelier's recommendations.

Everything about Cape Lodge says style. From the accommodation which is beyond comfortable, to the relaxed library, the bar, and then... the restaurant. Chef Michael Elfwing and his kitchen brigade deliver a first class meal every time. Even though my partner and I live a peaceful life in the Margaret River region, we always take a few days off a couple of times a year to visit Cape Lodge to be thoroughly pampered. All power to MD Drew Bernhardt and his team...

We went to one of the "chef's special" dinners on a Sunday evening. The theme on this occassion was French and we had been assured that my wife's vegetarian requirements would not be a problem.
The 'vegetarian' was not the problem. The problem was the quality of the meal and I was not happy with my non-veg. either. There was nothing particularly wrong - it was just that both meals were totally underwhelming and not worth the money.
