We have eaten here several times. This time we did not book for lunch and when we turned up they could not accommodate us - so make sure you book as this place has excellent food and the setting is among the best.

Excellent service from the wait staff and meticulous presentation of the dishes from the degustation menu. A mixture of some excellent dishes and some that suffered from some heavy handed salt input. The recommended wines were very well matched to the food which just adds to the whole experience. A jewel in the middle of nowhere! Just be prepared to pay for the experience.

We were about to go on a trip to the Margaret River, and the article in The Australian magazine listing the top 50 restaurants in Australia couldn't have been more timely. This restaurant was identified as the "hottest restaurant" in the Margaret River. Couldn't wait to visit.
Lovely setting, charming service, delicious house-made bread and good Cabernet Sauvignon ( we consequently bought some bottles to take with us ), were all pluses.
But the food didn't live up to expectations : it lacked sophistication and refinement. Nothing wrong with tasty, simple, home-style, but it wasn't that either .
The pastry in my beetroot tarte tartine was tough, and hard to cut, the cheese mentioned in the menu barely discernible and for my taste, the dish was too heavy for a starter. My gnocchi main was a soft, creamy texture, nicely browned on the outside, but someone was too heavy-handed with the salt. My husband enjoyed his fish main, but his entree of prawns with xo were overcooked and an unappetising brown liquid oozed out of them when the heads were cut off .
Our lunch was on a Sunday, perhaps the chef who won all the accolades was having a day off, and we were just unlucky. However, with so many wonderful restaurants to choose from ( the one at Voyager Estate was the pick of the bunch for us , with Leeuwin Estate a close second ), it is hard to know why a usually reliable guide rated it so highly. Hopefully other reviewers will find it more deserving.

Wow venue seated on the patio overlooking the vineyards with soft music playing. The food that came out was delicious. The fish was amazing and the abalone was delicious.
Had a coffee and was good.
Staff were friendly and had a beautiful lunch. Def must go.

We came at Wills Domain 1 year ago, and we were really impressed about the service, the food and nibbles that we could have between the plates...

We recommended it to our friend and 5 of us thought the same.. There is no connexion between the ingredients, some were burnt and no more nibbles. Where is your consistency?

The service was excellent, the wine too but the food need to step up again for the price that you are asking.
