We had a late lunch here today after visiting a few winery's. The front was fairly rustic, the interior clean, a kids activity area set up, and beautiful views. The decor friendly but not over the top. However the absolute dining experience was amazing without the pomp. Staff Lee and Gabbi were welcoming, knowledgeable and Lee had a great sense of humour. Gabbi was just lovely. Attentive but not intrusive. The restaurant also has disabled facilities including a disabled toilet.
The food...absolutely amazing! We were served with a complimentary cauliflower soup,, we all could have had a whole bowl of this...glad we didnt! Despite it being sumptuous. we shared the spring rolls, bread plate and piece de risistance...the prawns. All dishes were beautifully plated with an array of sides. For two fussy eaters on our table...everyone totally thought the dishes were incredible.
Mains for our two foodies were steak and the fish of the day. They were in heaven. The two fussies (one of which is myself) managed to finally finish a dish without passing it over to the foodies...they were only allowed a small sample! A huge compliment to the chefs!!! Plating was beautiful.
For desert two foodies were supposed to share a sticky date pudding...one was away admiring the view when it was served. The other had to be reminded it was a share...before it was all consumed. Consensus was that it was the best they had ever had.
Matched with a lovely chenin the meal was one of hte best we all had eaten. And we all eat out quite a bit.
A hidden delight. No wonder it won gold plates 2016 and 2017!
Well done to the chef's and wait staff. A fantastic experience.
