Many many years ago we stayed at the Yanchep Nation Park for our honeymoon. The rooms weren't as nice as the Lakeside rooms as they were quite old. I quite liked the more modern rooms with a lovely bath spa and very spacious bedroom and bathroom, which I must add were clean and tidy. The most I liked about this place was the way the staff looked after us with much respect and kindness. My hubby and I had some really memorable BBQ's with all the wildlife wondering around on this beautiful Nation Park just outside our hotel room.

Room Tip: Request a top floor as when sitting on the balcony you can watch the kangaroos and other wildlife gr...

we visited the place during our trip to western australia and a day spent here was just what we needed after a holiday full of adventure. perfectly good rooms with a view of kangaroos jumping around from your balcony. it is situated inside the national park which makes it go even higher on my list. you see different birds as you stroll around. crystal caves, koalas and good food in the on-site restaurant made it a memorable experience. A tip for booking is that don't book their backpackers room as it is in the old building which is really not in a great shape. other options give you good rooms with great views! however the so called free wifi is erratic and you may have to go out of the room to get the signal.

I had an unpleasant experience here before christmas, however, i love the park so was willing to give it another try. Bad move! The pints were about $3 more than other taverns we have been to. Service was very slack when trying to order food with numerous staff members walking past with no acknowledgement, and no apology for the wait when someone did finally turn up. We ordered bruschetta, beef burger, and fish burger, the food arrived promptly and was hot, thats where the good ends the bruschetta was average, the fish burger lacking in tartare and the fish itself was overcooked and oily, the beef burger was meant to have aioli and caramelized onion (my favs) but sadly had neither and in its place some sort of tomato chutney the beef was old and very dry and i think the bacon was found under the oven! The chips that came with the burgers looked like they had come from 2 different kitchens,1 serve looked and tasted nice, the other serve were inedible. Its such a shame as this is a lovely place to visit on the weekends but will no longer be on our list of nice spots to eat. 1 positive note: the gentleman singing and playing the guitar out the back was fab

Like everything in the national park this place needs an overhaul, foods average, service is slack and we waited over an hour for food then told it would be at least another 20minutes when we were never initially told of a wait.. ok for a drink but very limited selection not a lot else in the area the cafe nearby is worse..

We ordered two kids meals at l.15pm (cheese burger and fish and chips) but it took over an hour to be served. Children meals were large and 'normal quality' for a kids meal. We then ordered the adult meals at 1:35pm and were again served with our meals an hour later. The meals were fine but I'm not sure why alfalpha was included in the Caesar salad. Maybe the chef wanted to give the Caesar salad a 'Yanchep twist' . The manager came to our table twice as he was concerned that we were not happy with the food. We told him our concerns and he apologised. It was a public holiday and a bit busy but not un- manageable with knowledge that it would be busy. It's a nice tourist location to see kangaroos but I can guarantee that it won't be on the urban spoon.

We travelled to the historic Inn to celebrate our wedding anniversary. In addition to good food and an extensive menu, was great staff & service and a couple providing melodic music that was tasteful and not so loud as to make conversation impossible.

We came here for a drink after doing one of the National Park's great walking trails. It was just after the Melbourne Cup so granted they were busy with packing away etc. so there wasn't a relaxing vibe. But the building and grounds are lovely. Make sure you bring cash because there's a cheeky eftpos surcharge of $1 for orders under $20. We were surprised of this this close to Perth. And we're sure most places normally have a minimum of only $10 not $20. We've just returned from up north around Exmouth and remote areas and never had a surcharge on anything.
