Kanopi is the latest offering by Chef Anthony Goncalves. It is on the 42nd floor of the Ritz Carlton Hotel in White Plains, NY. The room is simply decorated. You do not need much when you have that stunning view of Westchester and the Hudson Valley, however the food is the star of the show here.
We gathered in this private space for a birthday party. The room is used exclusively for private events. Our hosts opted for the 5 course tasting menu. I great way to sample multiple items on the vast menu.
We stated with a refreshing ceviche of tuna. Light and delicious. Next up was Ravioli Carbonara. It was silken and rich. A nicely prepared piece of Cod with a vegetable and chicken pea soup was the next offering. Perfectly cooked Filet of Beef with purple corn polenta was the last of the savory dishes. All were delicious and lovely to look at. The dessert was a warm chocolate cake along with a selection of Macaroons, Bon Bons and Truffles. The passion fruit bon bon was the best thing I have ever tasted. The wait staff was very professional and warm. The entire affair was just as you would want it to be. A grand time was had by all.
