Came here New Year’s Day for brunch and it was fabulous. This is an order off the menu, white tablecloth kind of brunch. We came as a group and a few of us ordered steak and eggs (with potatoes and toast) and few of us ordered the Eggs Chesapeake which is fluffy perfectly cooked poached eggs over Maryland Crab Cakes and covered in Hollandaise sauce (also served with potatoes). The bar area also has some wonderful pastries and fruit which is open and available for the taking at no charge. May have to order the Monte Christo the next time we come. Although the food was delicious, we came for the drinks. The table was split between bloody mary drinkers and mimosa drinkers. Mimosas are not just orange juice…you can get them with a variety of fruit purees (strawberry, peach, etc). The custom bloody mary’s are what sold us on the place. They have four different mixes, three different choices for the rim of your glass, a ton of spirits and seven different garnishes and you use a checklist to order. Some choices are free in the $6 base price and some add up. Although most of the mixes seemed a bit on the sweet side for me, the bartender was quick to adjust to your liking and the blue cheese stuffed olives were to die for! The service was fantastic…the hostess, waitstaff and bartender were super friendly and the food came out super quick. We will definitely be back.

We came to Buffalo to see Tony Bennett and wanted a good dinner near the venue. 800maple was excellent. On Saturday night they have prime rib, which we got. It was excellent. The service was good and the wine list more than adequate. We were told the pizza was excellent, but we didn't have it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if in the area and looking for a good meal. It's not inexpensive but the quality of the food is excellent.

We had dinner at 800 Maple before Tony Bennett's concert at UB's Center for Performing Arts. We had early reservations, since we wanted to allow plenty of time to drive to the concert venue and find parking. Our dinner was excellent, the Two Hands' Shiraz was Service was very good, and the service was prompt and professional.

A far cry from a pedestrian family restaurant which years ago occupied this venue 800 maple has an edgy bistro/upscale decor There is a busy bar area to the left but the dining room is a left turn. Tables are smallish and the wooden chairs are attractive but quite unpleasant, perhaps to facilitate turnover rather than a slow dining experience. Wait staff is highly professional attentive and cordial. Dining options range from moderately priced personal pizzas which are diverse California style gems with light yeasty crisped crusts with upscale toppings. If you are famished a steak will be a good choice but pricey. We enjoy the succulent short ribs. Fish and pasta are good too. Lobster mac sometimes appears. I love their wedge salad. Try not to fill up on the annice flavored toast thins or bread. Deserts are varied including chocolate concoctions. Wine selections are readily paired with the eclectic entries.

We went out as a group of coworkers and friends. The restaurant had nice round tables and we were seated in the main dining area, which was fairly quiet. Our waiter was a great guy who was working in the restaurant in-between jobs. He was friendly and knowledgeable and made several good recommendations. We all ordered something different and all 6 of us were happy with our meal. I ordered the Chicken Scallopini with artichokes, sopressata, tomato, in a lemon caper pan sauce. It was mouth-watering! The bill was a little high, but everyone was satisfied with their meal.
