A friend and I went for lunch and both ordered the grilled 4-cheese sandwich with a cup of the homemade soup. Delicious! Each got a can of local brewed beer which were very good. Servers were attentive, friendly and food was quickly delivered. Have been here several times since 2009 and the food and service are always consistently great! Our lunch was $32 together.

I've been to the Veranda Cafe numerous times on my visits to the area and I've never once had a bad experience. Prices are extremely reasonable, the staff is super friendly, and the food is spectacular! Especially their homemade soups which change regularly which offers a nice surprise with every visit. Parking is fairly limited but worth the little stroll through their quaint and cozy town to get to the cafe. Highly recommend!

A quick trip to Black Mountain visitor center noted the Veranda Cafe. We followed suggestions and were very pleased
The She Crab soup was awesome. Just the right amount of sherry and lots of crab. I have not had better.
Other sandwiches were very nice. Waite staff was pleasant outdoor seating cozy!!

We stopped by for lunch mid week, on our way from Asheville to Charlotte. The online reviews were excellent, so we thought we'd give it a try. Had the Dill Tuna Salad sandwich and the Trio Salad Plate with soup, both of which were fabulous! The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming; the atmosphere is quiet and laid back and has a hometown ambiance; the food was fresh, flavorful, healthy and delicious! We will stop in again at our next visit to the mountains of NC!
