What a gem! Beautiful house with beautiful views. This place has everything that you could possibly need to enjoy your vacation. The house is very well equipped and comfortably furnished. Once we arrived, with adequate provisions for our stay, we decided to take a break from driving and just relax. The weather was great and we made good use of the outside space. In the evening we could take our pick of the games provided or relax in front of the TV. In the mornings we had breakfast listening to the local country music station on the radio, all the while taking in the view. WiFi kept us in touch with family at home. We were frequently in touch with Cynthia from when we first booked until departure.
Our stay at Hawk's View near Bakersville, NC was most wonderful. The view and setting could not have been improved. The house was well stocked and both the interior and exterior very interesting and even amusing. The owner was especially helpful in keeping us informed of a possible power outage upon our arrival. We hope to return soon.
Very well-maintained house with stunning views of mountains from porch and kitchen. House is exceptionally clean. Kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook meals. Situated in quiet area, but close to town. Great location for exploring outdoor activities along Blue Ridge Parkway.
Hawk's View House is a perfect mountain retreat with stunning vistas and charm galore. This was our first vacation in the mountains and we loved every minute of our stay. The light-filled house is perfectly clean, comfortable, and welcoming. It is also well-equipped with the modern appliances and conveniences we appreciate so much. There are two comfortable bedrooms, a good-sized main floor living area, and a lovely loft that my husband especially appreciated for reading and relaxing. Every room has a view of the mountains and we found ourselves popping out to the covered deck again and again to take in the ever-changing scenery. I can't imagine finding a better vacation home and will be booking our visit for next year very soon.
We have stayed in Hawks View House twice now & each stay has been extremely relaxing! The views are spectacular, the property is private, the peaceful sounds of nature are always welcoming. When the weather decides not to cooperate with our daily plans, there are so many lovely books to read, games to play or movies to watch. The house is spotlessly clean & supplied with everything one could possibly need during vacation. There is also bird seed & sugar water provided to refill the bird feeders which attract the most beautiful birds. This home is well maintained & you will not want to leave once you arrive. Stay there once & you will definitely return again & again. (like us)
This is our second stay at Hawk’s View and we have pictures not only of the amazing views outside, but of the perfect interior! We can’t imagine a better place to spend our mountain getaway as this has everything we need. Beautiful view 24/7 of the mountains, short drive to nearby towns, comfortable amenities and a great personality. Cynthia makes sure you have everything you need and keeps a good supply of information about area attractions. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway to the mountains. You’ll leave feeling relaxed, recharged, and ready to come back!

My family had a chance to stay at Hawks View this past week. It is such a beautiful home with amazing views. Cynthia has put a lot of love into this home and it shows. It was so comfortable for the 4 of us and our dog. The weather didn’t cooperate for part of the week and we had a great time playing games and watching movies by the wood stove. Watching the fog and snow rolling in was incredible and the rainy days with the tin roof lulled is all to sleep. We got a couple of clear days and nights and the sunsets and stargazing was AMAZING! My son loved staying in the loft area and the bedrooms were extremely comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with any utensil you would need and it’s open floor plan let us all enjoy our time making food, hanging out and appreciating the splendor of the mountains through giant windows looking out of the blue ridge area.
This place has it all. Roan Mountain is only a half hour away and there is a lot of cool hiking within a hours drive.
The town of Spruce Pine is easily accessible and has a couple of really great places to eat. I was really surprised at Tropical Grill. Some of the best Jerk chicken I’ve every had, a great Cuban, and mofongo in a small mountain town?!?! Check out the little local coffee shop and bakery. My son still can’t stop talking about the hot chocolate.
If you have the opportunity you would be lucky to stay in the wonderful gem in the North Carolina mountains
