Comfort Suites is in a great location. The room was very comfortable and clean. The front desk staff seemed indifferent but the breakfast staff were very friendly. The pool area was clean and nice. It snowed the day before we arrived and they hadn't cleaned the area walking into the building yet. The breakfast offerings were plentiful.

Room tip: choose a room on the second floor for easier access to breakfast

We stayed at the Comfort Suites just prior to New Year's for four nights. The room size was good, and the beds (for me) were reasonably comfortable but my husband felt they were not. The pull-out couch mattress had a significant slope toward the head which would have been uncomfortable for an adult though my kids didn't seem to mind. Our room was reasonably clean to start with but was not well cleaned while we were there; noticeably, the floor was only vacuumed once and should have been each day due to the amount of traffic in and out, leaving visible debris. We unfortunately shared the floor with a group of people who did not feel consideration for others was important, and continually ran up and down the hall until midnight, repeatedly slamming doors. This occurred for two nights, and highlighted the lack of sound buffer between the individual rooms and the hallway. My biggest complaint was the breakfast buffet. The selections were average, which is fine, but on two of the four mornings there were no scrambled eggs, no hardboiled eggs, no yogurt, and no coffee. They were all out, and it was well before breakfast was slated to be over. That was disappointing. In all, I'd say it's a fine place to spend a night or two for a reasonable price but look elsewhere for nicer accommodations if you'll be spending several days in Boone.

Room tip: A room facing away from the busy road is likely to be quieter.

My family and I went to the Boone, NC area the week after Christmas before our kids had to go back to school. Some of the staff were wonderful, while others were a bit lazy. I say this because my wife was in the lobby area to get a cup of coffee and they were out of cups. So my wife went to ask the person at the front desk for some and was told to go upstairs to get them and was a bit rude telling her that.

On the other hand, when my wife went up to get tickets to Grandfather Mountain, the person up there at that time was very helpful but not very knowledgeable. We wanted to charge it to the room, but they did not know how to do it since we had already pre-paid for the room from a travel website. Check-in was a bit slow as the person checking us in seemed to be new and it looked like they were being trained. That was not a big deal, but I just wanted to mention it.

The rooms were quite large for a hotel and the tub was also a "spa". The shower was not too desirable as there was some mold in the caulking. Since the tub was also a "spa" it was a bit too large for my liking. The shower head did not have enough streams, but it was powerful enough.

The room was cleaned well other than the mold in the caulking in the bathroom. They even placed my sons stuffed animal that was probably lost in the bedding on the bed sitting up.

Only stayed one night with cousins. The room was spacious and comfortable. Great beds and pillows. Enjoyed the hot tub! In the early evening, they provided wine, other drinks and light snacks. It wS quiet and convient to the campus and down. Very good parking and the heated pool was a bonus. The lobby had a beautiful fireplace and tree that was perfect for pictures.

Nice hotel for the value. Breakfast was average. Our room was clean, including the bathroom. A couple of times I smelled a strange smell in the hallway but it didn't last long and didn't smell it in our room, may have come from another patron here. Only downfall is that it is almost impossible to turn left out of the parking lot to go into town during the day, but was able to find alternate routes by turning right. Would stay here again.
