July 2018. Did this excursion twice before. Nantahala Gorge Steam train. Friends wanted to see a steam loco. Adult first class car. Adults ONLY. Well worth the $$. Make res EARLY. Lunch was delightful. Service was friendly and spectacular. If only two of you, request table for two if you want privacy...downside you'll miss most of the sights seen from the tables for four. Casual dress recommended. First class car can get chilly. Really hard to go wrong with this 4 hour journey.

What a wonderful day we had had with our 8 year old grandson. The lake, river & mountain views, the history & ride all provided a thoroughly enjoyable time! Jessica provided great service in Crown Class. We will be back!

The train was relaxing the views were beautiful. The lunch that was served was surprisingly tasty. I won't need to do this again but it was fun to check it out this one time.

What a fun way to enjoy the mountain side. We did the first class which I recommend because of a few perks (lunch included, souvenir cup with free refills, tote bag). We sat at table A and it seem if you sit on a the side of train that seats 4 at a table you actually have the better view then those sitting across from you with 2 per table. I would recommend this for everyone it’s a smooth ride and our host Connie was fun, informative and did a wonderful job. There also was live music which was unexpected but really enjoyable.

We rode the train to the Nantahala Gorge and it was a beautiful ride! We rode in the open air gondola and got off for the Jeep excursion which I highly recommend! I walked through several of the cars and the open air was defiantly the way to go. You could definitely see more than the smaller windows in some of the cars. All of the employees were super polite and nice! We had a guy come on our car and play the banjo and sing. He was fantastic!
