We just spent 3 great days with Engadine as our home base in Asheville, NC, area. We stayed in the Smoky Mountains Cabin, which accommodated our Golden Retriever. Owners Tom and Rick know what families need, and the cabin was well stocked. We used the dedicated dog towels and hooked a tie-out line to the cabin's deck. Quick rambles along the long driveways to chase rabbits and a nightly walk to the edge of Honey Hill gave our dog some space to stretch out. We brought her crate for security and good naps.

We paid extra for a delicious breakfast at the "big house" one morning, and it fueled us for a fun day hiking in the mountains. Tom and Rick gave excellent suggestions and directions for things to do. Wifi in the cabins and a photo book of Asheville recommendations and FAQ made it easy to plan each day's events. Good grocery store is just a few exits west on 1-40.

Room Tip: Dogs in 3 cabins, children only in cabins, I-40 road noise may be a factor in the main house

Hi Monica. Thanks so much for sharing your generous comments about your stay with us here at Engadine. Tom and I are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed yourselves! I'm sorry to say that we can't take credit for the rabbits, but we're glad that they, too, contributed to what we hope was a memorable and fun visit to Asheville!!! And, we hope you'll come back to see us and to enjoy more of what Western North Carolina has to offer!

My wife and I needed a retreat. We wanted to get out of Nashville and away from it all for a few days. Upon researching places to stay in or near Asheville, We stumbled upon Engadine's website. It seemed like the perfect location, and oh boy, we were right. 15 minutes to Ashville and 45 minutes (or so) from the Appalachian Trail was the perfect location for our 3 day adventure.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time and cannot recommend Engadine enough. Tom and Rick took such good care of us and the breakfasts were out of this world. Rick even spent a good 10 minutes the night we checked in going over all of the attractions within the area (good restaurants, good hiking spots, sights to see, and things to do).

During our time, we saw the Biltmore, wondered around Asheville, ate some delicious food, and even hiked the Appalachian Trail. When we decide to head to Asheville again, we will be staying at Engadine.

Hi guys! Thanks so much for such a wonderful review! Tom and I work hard to make every experience at Engadine fun and memorable for each of our guests, so it's great to hear when we've done a good job! We are, indeed, lucky to be located so near so much to do in the area. Couple that fact with the views we have and we count our blessings every day! We hope you'll be back to visit with us again...SOON!!! Rick.

Great little spot close to Asheville. Maybe 20 minute drive from downtown. Property has stunning views that you can't get at B&Bs in the downtown Asheville area. Tom and Rick are lovely hosts and breakfast is delicious! Only issue was the mattress was a bit too soft for me, but that is a personal preference.

If you love historic places.....look no further! What a unique find! We stayed in the 3rd floor suite. Owners Rick & Tom were more than welcoming....tour of the historical home, grounds, Market Place, Sky Bar & waterfall route recommendations! Yummy breakfast (gluten free for me)! They have thought of everything! Beautiful view from cabins above the inn & firepit

Hi, Brenda! Thanks so much for staying with us! I wish we could take credit for the history...but, alas, all we can do is hope to be good stewards of the place for the time we'll be here. Tom and I are glad you enjoyed your stay at Engadine and that you liked our suggestions for what to do, what to see and where to eat in Asheville. It's a cool little town. Please come back to see us. It would be fun spend more time with you two...maybe over a glass of wine at the fire pit at sunset!!! Best...Rick.

After a day of touring waterfalls in Transylvania County, NC, it was a most welcome sight to find Engadine Inn & Cabins. The hosts were friendly and very welcoming! The Inn was beautiful. Our room in particular The Vineyard View Room was quite large, the King bed beyond comfortable and I cannot say enough about the claw foot tub! Breakfast in the morning was decadent, a blueberry cloud, bacon cooked with a maple brown sugar glaze topped with pecans and a warm croissant with ham, egg and white American cheese. The conversation with the hosts Tom and a Rick was delightful! The location right off 40 was ideal for us as we were at the waterfalls and Brevard about a 40 min drive and Asheville was only 15 min away. Also, we drove around the property where the cabins are and the view was so pretty! And the cabins were very nice! So I highly recommend this place for couples wanting a romantic escape!
