We just returned from a 3 night stay at Mountain Springs over New Year's weekend. It was amazing! I can't say enough nice things about the owner (Kate) and the property (compact and charming!) We stayed in Cabin 9 (Mockingbird), which was impeccably clean and well appointed! It had a super comfortable bed, cute furnishings, big TV, convenient kitchen, cozy gas fireplace, and fabulous jacuzzi! Perfect for a couple looking to get away. It was about 20 minutes to downtown Asheville, which was just the right distance for the best of both worlds. We went in to town every day but enjoyed retreating to the cabin after great meals and site-seeing! The staff was great from promptly answering questions prior to booking, to helping us out right away when I locked our keys in the cabin. We'd definitely come back!

My family including my son's in-laws from
Florida rented 3 cabins at Mountain Springs
Cabins. We were looking for a relaxing and
wonderful Christmas in the mountains. We
had a great experience at the cabins. Kate
and her staff were great. The cabins were
up to date with all the conveniences of
home. We had home cooked meals we
made in the cabins. My son rented the
large cabin and we all met over there for
our meals and get togethers for playing
games, etc..... . The cabins are equipped
with all you need. There are gas fireplaces
in each of the cabins that are more than
enough to keep you warm and cozy. There
is a soothing stream that runs down through
the property and a working ranch next door.
Between the nature and the cows, horses,
chickens and roosters you couldn't feel
more away from the city. Asheville is 10
minutes away with all the conveniences
and a good little store 2 minutes away. We
had the best of both worlds. Truly one of
the best Christmases ever. If you want to
relax, enjoy the natural world or shop in
boutiques and enjoy great restaurants this
is the place. Should you like entertainment
like Las Vegas there is Harrah's Casino in
Cherokee, N.C. 52 miles up the road. A
one hour drive away. So many choices
with a great home base.

Room tip: We and my son's in-laws stayed in 2 person cabins and my son and children stayed in a 6 person cabin. All were perfect.

This was an absolutely amazing trip. My husband and I booked the trip very last minute when other plans were cancelled. Kate was able to make accommodation for the next day in the lovely 1 bedroom cabin. It was very refreshing to wake up next to the running stream every morning, what a calm and peaceful sound. They had everything in our packet of everything we wanted to visit. Asheville is a beautiful city especially during the Christmas season and the National Gingerbread Competition at Grove Park Inn was a wonderful experience.

Enjoyed another stay at Mountain Springs Cabins. Stayed in our favorite cabin, #7 the Hummingbird. Always enjoy sitting in the rocking chair on the porch with the beautiful view of the stream and mountains. Really like the gas fireplace at night. Took family with us on this trip and spent the days hiking the mountains looking at waterfalls. Took in Biltmore winery one night and their Christmas lights another. Enjoyed talking to Kate and Alicia. They can recommend places to see and things to do for anyone. Tough choice to decide between sitting on the porch or exploring the hills! Already planning the next trip this spring.

My husband, brother, sister-in-law and mother recently enjoyed family time at Mountain Springs Cabins and highly recommend. My brother and sister-in-law planned a wonderful long weekend trip for us after visiting Mountain Springs earlier in the year. I can't wait to return in the spring. We were able to rent two separate cabins which allowed my husband and I the flexibility of bringing our dog with us and staying in the Katydid while the others rented a larger cabin closer to the stream. We were able to enjoy family time together in the larger unit and enjoy the view of the stream from the porch each day. We did take day trips to hike and tour the Biltmore but honestly, I could have stayed on that porch all day and relaxed in "our little mountain retreat". Thanks to Kate and Alicia for such gracious hospitality!
