Their house sauce with their vegetarian dish was delicious. The roti bread stole the show there, fresh and tasted absolutely amazing!! I was very satisfied with this meal and would go back again in a second when visiting Chapel Hill again.

We very much enjoyed the vegetable dishes we ordered. Fast friendly service with fresh hot food delivered in a flash. The canai bread was awesome.

visited this place a coupla nights with dear friends ( one of who has lived in malaysia ).
nice ambience with good attentive service.
i have had malaysian food before in other cities ( last stop -vancouver BC ) and thus am somewhat familiar with the cuisine.
for appetizers we ordered the Roti Kanai , Popiah and the Gold Tael Bao.
the latter is a total non starter in my book. a deep fried mess of dough with a barely perceptible flavour of any ingredients inside what essentially appears to be a deep fried spring roll. the Popiah on the other hand is the BEST i have ever had anywhere. a light crepe with flavourful vegetables and ??noodles topped with a light hoisin like sauce. the Roti Kanai was a greasy chicken coconut sauce ( with surprisingly firm textured chicken with no flavour ) with flaky greasy roti on the side.
for the main course we ordered the beef Rendang and clay pot Tom Kha among a coupla other less memorable dishes. the beef Rendang was very well done ---tender and well spiced beef. the the clay pot Tom Kha was the star of the main courses. very well balanced flavour of coconut milk, lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves. the broth with the accompanying crisp vegetable and seafood was just perfect.
certainly recommend this place without hesitation. i will surely go back and order different items on the menu and i hope to unearth more gems then.

My French friend and I just finished a great lunch at this place. We both agreed that the food and service couldn't have been better. I ordered a dish with "Rasa Malaysia" in its name, after discussing it with the server (owner?). It was fabulous: chicken and potato in a spicy red curry sauce, white rice, tiny pieces of anchovies and onions in a sweet-sour sauce resting on cucumber slices, a handful of small peanuts, and a boiled egg. These ingredients were presented separately on a big square of banana leaf, creating quite a new dining experience for me. The various flavors and textures blended into a very, very delicious and satisfying meal. When we'd both cleaned our plates, my friend commented that the eggplant was the best she'd ever had in the US, though she's lived here for decades. Good wooden tables and chairs, a feeling of spaciousness, and tasteful decor complemented the excellent food. Though I don't live anywhere near this restaurant, I may well make a special trip sometime just to sample some more of its top-notch cuisine.
