My husband is a true horseman from Germany and I wasn't sure how open he would be to the idea of a carriage ride. In Florida, where I live, the horses are treated horribly, the heat is so intense and it is heartbreaking. So to to say that two animal lovers, my husband the horse lover, and me who adores all things canine, were impressed says a lot. The horse, Gulliver was in outstanding physical condition, works only two days a week, and has genuine bond of affection with Cindy. Iggy, her dog was just adorable, and even added his own song to entertain us. We were delighted to see the backstreets of the Queen City with Cindy's knowledgeable about the well-known history and the details that really make it both a learning experience, as well as an entertaining one. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Charlotte. We were glad to choose a private tour, both for the romance and also to give my husband the chance to understand the English being spoken. He's becoming more fluent each day, but this was a great solution for us. If the weather is cold, dress warmly (hat, gloves, warm boots), and bring a blanket for your lap.
