My girlfriend and I spent a week at this great small suite Inn while visiting my best friend and found the Inn to be a great value (we stayed over along weekend and they gave us the weekday rate for the whole stay), the rooms were very large with French doors separating the bedroom from the living quarters and a large bathroom. You really didn't feel like you were in a hotel room. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. The best part of the stay was the beds, so many hotels look at the bottom line and probably have never slept in the beds but, these beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept in at a hotel of any price. The only thing I would change is the pedestal sinks in the bathroom allows no counter space (they did put some shelves on the wall next to the sink) but would rather have had some counter space. It is a few miles off of I-40 but well worth it to get there. I would and will stay there again.

The Acorn Inn of Elon is not listed on Burlington's list of hotels or B&Bs, which is too bad for anyone traveling through there. While it is off the interstate a ways, it sure would be a welcome rest for those liking more than the usual exit ramp motel.
The Acorn Inn has great rates. In California, we pay about twice as much for a similar room. It also has lots of amenities, like jacuzzi tubs and robes. The rooms are two room suites with tvs in each, and beautiful cork floors. You can sit on the front porch in the evening and rock in great rocking chairs. You order breakfast and it is provided for you, including great Belgian waffles. I was so happy not to have the plain white toast, Costco style danishes and OJ from a machine that I got before at one of the chain motels in Statesville.
In addition, the staff is typical North Carolina friendly, which means they are very nice. We were very happy to stay there.
