The Lungarini Family owners take great pride in serving their guests fresh and delicious Italian dishes.
Our friends, my wife and I arrived for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The group consisting of 10 adults and 6 young adults arrived without a reservation.
Apparently the customer load on Sunday afternoons is not large. The staff of three quickly moved tables and chairs to accommodate such a large group and made us all feel welcome. Our drink orders were taken immediately and served quickly.
Alexia M the chef came out to greet us and asked to serve our meals family style. We all agreed family style sounded fine. Alexia did all the cooking with the help of her daughter.
The first course was three freshly made pizzas. The light and crisp crust held just the right amount of meats and vegetables. The teenagers and adults devoured the large pizzas quickly.
The next course consisted of two different freshly made pasta dishes, one a creamy alfredo and the other a tomato pasta. The serving size fed our small army.
A salad course rounded out the meal. The house made vinaigrette dressing complemented the fresh vegetables in the salad.
One friend with a gluten allergy was given special attention by the chef. Our friend received a beautiful grilled chicken salad with no fuss and without calling attention our friend’s special need.
Unfortunately, an unpleasant odor permeated the open air patio due to a neighbor’s inconsiderate behavior. The Casa Sophia staff did everything possible to mitigate the offensive smell including scented candles and moving the tables as far as possible to the other end of the patio.
Hopefully the next time we stop of lunch we won’t be bothered by the neighbor’s reckless behavior.
