It seems somewhat superfluous to write yet another great review of this place since there are already so many posted. But I just want to echo what everyone else has said about the fabulous Nag's Head Beach Inn. My husband and I stayed here in August on our first trip to Nag's Head and we can't wait to return next year! The room was simply decorated and immaculately clean. The bed was comfortable. Each morning the wonderful smell of coffee drew us into the sunlit dining area where an array of fresh fruit, quiche, breads, and delectable pastries awaited. When we returned to our room each afternoon, it had been cleaned and freshened and when we returned to the inn every evening there were slices of homemade chocolate cake. Heavenly!
And what can I say about Ken the innkeeper? Friendly, laid back, helpful, and full of knowledge about the area. Each morning he provided us with a cooler of ice, soft drinks, chairs, and an umbrella for the beach (which is just a quick walk across the street). Bicycles await out front if guests want to take a spin. We didn't see quite as much of Lisa (Ken's wife) but her presence is still felt as she is the maker of some of the delicious fare provided.
If you're a couple looking for a great place to stay in the Nag's Head area, book this place! You will not regret it.

I recently stayed here on a short vacation with my best friend. We were greeted upon arrival by Ken, the innkeeper. He is very friendly and you feel like you're welcome. The building itself is historical but beautifully maintained with lovely wood floors, and charming rooms. The bed was great, the jacuzzi tub was an especially nice perk. The breakfast is delicious and you can tell Ken and Lisa take pride in meeting all of their guest's needs.

The Inn is located across the street from the public beach access, and when one has had enough sand and sun, you can walk back to the Inn and sit in rocking chairs on the porch or find a nice spot in the garden, around back by the pool. They offer chairs, bikes, and other beach accessories for the guests to use so it's great to not have to rent them or buy them, and very convenient.

Overall, we loved this place and will definitely return. Ken, Lisa and the staff are friendly, the location is great, the room is clean and spacious, I have no complaints whatsoever, and hope to visit again soon!

This was an off the cuff trip. Originally my husband didn't even want to spend one night in Nags Head. He just wanted to make it a day trip while visiting family in North Carolina. I talked him into one night so we could get 2 days at the beach. Ken was so nice that even though they have a 2 night minimum he let us stay just one night. Just across the street was the beach, so convenient. The rooms, the lounge and breakfast area was so cozy, clean and inviting. Especially the jacuzzi in the room. Even though we were only spending the one night Ken was so sweet he let us come back to the room after our second day on the beach and clean up before hitting the road. Our other choice was changing in a gas station bathroom. I hope you all survive the hurricane because we will be back. Besides all the nice things he did for us they also provide beach chairs and umbrellas for the beach, how much nicer can you get.

Can't seem to get enough of the place. Great atmosphere, friendly folks, and a pristine beach just across the street that is never too crowded. Breakfasts are always excellent (you can make your own waffles, and always tons of fresh fruit and cereal). Additionally, Ken the proprietor knows all of the best places to eat. He also has a good knowledge of the area and has great advice about things to do on the Outer Banks. We'll be back.

It was my first trip to Nags Head and it couldn't have been better. Ken and Lisa were wonderful hosts: Lisa cooked really yummy breakfasts and Ken was always available with lots of tips about activities and restaurants to try. The breakfasts were always delicious and plentiful with lots of home-cooked goodies (quiches, waffle, baked goods, etc.) The location couldn't be beat: 5 minutes away is a plaza with a supermarket and various take-out options. Access to the beach is literally just across the street; and what a wonderful beach. The Inn provided umbrellas and beach chairs for a shaded relaxation on the beach. My room was on the smaller side but for one person, and with the single occupancy discount, it was great value. Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay in Nags Head! Thanks Ken and Lisa!

This place is lovely! The room was extremely clean, the bed was big and comfortable, the location is brilliant about 2 minutes from the beach, close to all other attractions and some good restaurants. The breakfast is pretty awsome, loads of choice, waffles, cereal, fresh fruit, bagles and the best banana bread! (homemade) Ken and Lisa are lovely, always ready to help you out with anything. I can't think of a bad thing about staying here, I absolutely reccomend it!

The Nags Head Beach Inn is an excellent place to stay. Ken and his family are excellent hosts - very helpful in every way. The amenities are all there - pool, breakfast with lots of choices, beach umbrella and chairs, bikes, etc. The rooms are just right with TV, air conditioning, and internet access. Rooms are also quiet. The location is perfect. It's not so close to the beach that there's lots of traffic and not too far to walk the short distance. We appreciated the hospitality and the other guests. A very friendly place that's easy to find.
