We walked into the restaurant at 7:45 and they were closing in 15 minutes. They were more than happy to serve us. Recommended by a local. I had the Chicken Pot Pie, great flavor. Key Lime Pie great also. Owner was our server and she was very engaging, especially to our children. Highly recommended.

Went to take MIL to Sweet Teas and was surprised to see a "Space Available" sign in the front window. Calling their number confirms that they have gone out of business. Too bad, we did enjoy their offerings. One star only because it's closed. :(

The restaurant is tucked in a shopping center off a busy road in southeast Charlotte. I was curious about the name and what types of food were on the menu. For the lunch entrees, your tea, either sweet or unsweet is included in the price. The choices varied from mealoaf to chicken and waffles to a fish plate and other tempting dishes. I ordered the fish and chips and was delicious. The 3 pieces of fish were medium sized while the homemade fries tasted really good. The service was very efficient and a cozy dining atmosphere.

Tucked into a corner of a strip mall that itself has no direct access to the main road without (Pineville-Matthews road), you might miss Sweet Tea's, or get turned around on the way. However, it's worth the effort of finding! Quiet for a midweek lunch, the hostess and wait-staff were gracious and friendly; the menu not over-blown, with a good selection of well-prepared and well-presented Southern fare--shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes , etc all served at a reasonable, unhurried pace. Drink and dessert menus likewise adequate, not excessive. Quantities were enough, not too much; prices were impressively low for food and beverages. Atmosphere clean and bright--far better than your average mall restaurant. Well worth taking the time to find and visit!

Each individual dish was OK, but I have never had a more fattening, greasy dinner ever. The staff was very nice, but I would never eat here again because it is so unhealthy. If you enjoy southern comfort food, this may be your place.
