The room I got was quite large, and clean. It's located only 100 meters from the West gate, with a canal / open sewer right next to it (between the hotel and the gate) that is - unfortunately - so common in China and doesn't seem to shock anyone ....
However, in the middle of the night, I was woken up by someone using nails and a hammer (night work is not unusual) that fortunately only lasted the time necessary to drive in a few nails, it seemed.
The staff was friendly, though they didn't seem to speak much English if at all.
Breakfast was not for westerners: no coffee, no bread, no fruit.More
