Stayed one night while on business in town. Very comfy bed, dated but ok decor, spotless bathroom and very quiet at night. Courteous reception staff. Breakfast cafe ... well the brewed coffee was bloody awful, but maybe I am spoiled by Brisbane cafes. Don't hesitate to stay.

Hi Ellen P

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We're pleased you found your bed to be comfy, the bathroom spotless and your room to be quiet.

We're surprised at your comment about the filtered coffee as we can honestly say we've only ever had great reviews about it. We use good quality Miko Columbian coffee which we get from the Sunshine Coast and it's very common in cafes and coffee shops, we're sorry it wasn't to your liking.

We hope to see you again the next time you have business in Maryborough.

Kind regards
Sharon & Clint

We stayed here for one night. Great room which was a good size. Bed was very comfy and staff were very helpful.

We went to the restaurant for dinner which was really good. Food was delicious and the wine selection was really nice.

We had so much fun we ended up booking a theatre night in August and another night at the hotel.

Stayed 2 nights, hard to fault, room was very clean, large, bathroom was bigger than normal, sitting area with table & chairs outside front of room.
Under cover car parking spot was like a double spot.
Hose available to wash the car.
Only negative was attitude of manager when checking in.
He was grumpy & not welcoming not what we expected after a longish drive from Brisbane.
Wasn't any more friendly when we handed the keys back after 2 days.
Even thought it strange when a female staff member requested entry into our room to collect our towels even prior to checkout time.
WIFI is non existent in room 24, could not connect even outside, not what you expect
Motel is probably all you need, suggest staff attitude may need some some work.

Room Tip: All rooms appear roughly the same

Hi Craig902

Thank you for taking the time to review us, we're pleased you found your Deluxe room to be very clean and spacious. You can actually fit two small cars in the undercover parking directly out the front of your room so we are always popular with car clubs such as the one you were travelling with as there is no need to worry about the room next to you opening their car door onto yours.

Clint and I were on holidays when you stayed on the 16th & 17th June, we have addressed the issues regarding attitude and the collection of towels with our Relief Managers and they have asked us to apologise on their behalf. Terry wasn't well at the time so we sincerely apologise that he came across as grumpy and unwelcoming. Unfortunately being Relief Managers or Managers of a Motel we can't just shut the doors when we're sick and go home, we have to continue to run the Motel 14 hours a day and do our best to put on a smiling face.

Regarding the WIFI, we had a new $6,000 system installed for the whole Motel only 8 months ago and haven't experienced any issues. I have taken my laptop down to Room 24 which you stayed in and got straight on with 4/5 signal bars both inside and outside the room. The WIFI is definitely working and very efficiently so it can only be that there is a setting on your device that wasn't allowing you to access it.

We do appreciate your feedback and we hope to welcome you back to McNevins in the future.

Kind regards
Sharon & Clint

We booked and stayed one night, when we arrived so did two other people so we all stood in reception waiting for service we could hear a man on the phone having a casual conversation but no matter how much noise we made he did not come to help us a women then walked in the entrance with more clients who had a complaint so not a great start. The room was clean & tidy however an overwhelming carpet deodorizer smell so heavy in the air I couldn't sleep for the fumes. We were woken at 3am by noisy guests in the room above us. Also the air con didn't work & the room was stuffy, when we told them about this they said their was a hidden switch somewhere, well why didn't they let us know on check in. Overall just a bed in a dated motel with not very caring managers who offered a discount on checkout but then didn't apply it! No goodwill. No more stays.

Dear Mel S

We have just returned from a 2 week break and were very disappointed to read your review and even more so after speaking with our Relief Managers and viewing our CCTV footage.

Our check in time is 2.00pm, you arrived at 11.37am when both of our Relief Managers were busy tending to other guests. One was on the phone to a future guest and the other had been out showing another guest our Deluxe and Poolside rooms as she had booked a Deluxe room online thinking that she had booked a Poolside with an upstairs balcony. She wasn't complaining, on the contrary she was very happy that she was able to go into the Poolside room she thought she had booked which was verified by her smiling face. As soon as our Relief Manager was off the phone you were checked in and walking out the door at 11.41am.

On check out the following morning you advised our Relief Managers that the air conditioner wasn't working. The switch for the air conditioner is located on the bedside table right next to the main light switch and clearly marked, it's also noted in the Compendium in your room under Air Conditioning Instructions. The phone is also located on this bedside table with the number for Reception and contactable 24/7 if there are any issues or if you have a noise complaint. Our Relief Managers did offer a discount to which your husband replied "that's not necessary", had you of notified Reception, these issues could've been rectified at the time.

When you mentioned the fumes from the deodoriser, you apparently also commented that you don't use chemicals at home. It's not uncommon for guests when they're booking to let us know if they are sensitive to cleaning products so we know to air the room out before they arrive especially if it has been cleaned on the day of your arrival and you intend on checking in early. All Motels use cleaning products and room deodorisers so for future stays in other Motels it would be best to let them know prior to your arrival for your own comfort.

Kind regards
Sharon & Clint Strathern

Travelled on a two night stay with my 13 year old son. Booking was easy via email. Room size was very generous and very clean. Bathroom room standard. Parking was great at front door and very spacious. Restaurant Sails was superb and very stylish. Meals and service was second to none and great value for money. My son said that it was the best steak he ever had. Breakfast in the Glass House Cafe x 2 was great fast and value for money. Thank you for a pleasurable stay.

Room Tip: Try the restaurant Sails.

Hi Arthur S & Son

Thank you for your 5/5 informative review.

We're so pleased you had the "Perfect Break" with us and enjoyed your stay in one of our Small Family rooms. They are lovely and spacious and our housekeepers work very hard to provide our guests with spotlessly clean rooms so we'll be sure to pass on your comments to them.

Our Chefs and Wait staff were thrilled to read your feedback regarding your dining experiences. We do have an amazing team in both our Sails Restaurant and Glasshouse Breakfast Café, both offering quality meals and service.

We hope to welcome you and your son back to McNevins Maryborough the next time you need a break.

Kind regards
Sharon & Clint
