Owner description: At Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary our friends become yours. Enjoy a day with our friendly residents. Pet, feed and interact with kangaroos, koalas, possums, birds, snakes, reptiles, and a whole lot more! Cooberrie Park is a wildlife sanctuary and takes care of sick, injured and orphaned wildlife that are then rehabilitated and released back to the wild. These animals are victims of car hits, dog and cat attacks, along with birds falling out of nests, sick and abandoned animals. Once recuperated, Cooberrie Park permanently houses wildlife that can't be released back to the wild and houses rescued animals from all across Australia, including animals from the RSPCA along with confiscated illegal wildlife. OUR HISTORY... Cooberrie Park began as a botanical garden more than 100 years ago. There are a number of very old European and South American trees at the park, as the original owner was a European Botanist. Then, 45 years ago animals started to arrive and visitors were able to visit and interact with the wildlife. To this day, Cooberrie Park has adopted the same ethos inviting visitors to get up close and interact with a wide range of animals. Cooberrie Park is open plan and the kangaroos have 25 acres to explore!

Probably our best family day out! Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary was the closest we have ever been to so many native animals in a setting that felt natural and non-exploitative. The animals were friendly and welcomed handfeeding and handling with gentleness. Mother kangaroos with joeys in pouch, peacocks, emus, ducks, cassowarys, koalas, monkeys, crocodiles, snakes, sugar gliders, parrots and various lizards were all available for close encounters. Stay for the 1pm session too because it is an awesome photo opportunity.

The park looks after orphan and injured animals. It's a small but lovely place to visit. The admission fees are a bit high. Then you have to pay to feed animals

My husband and I visited the Cooberrie Park recently and we absolutely recommend it to anyone who loves animals and is interested in the Australian wildlife. The park is very clean, has lots of animals and very helpful and knowledgeable staff who love their park animals. You won’t get any closer to Koalas or Kangaroos than here. We handfed Kangaroos and Emus and even held a Koala which was one of the best experiences ever! Go visit Cooberrie Park!

This small rustic animal sanctuary is very quaint and in need of some repair but the amazing staff who clearly love the animals and the wonderful animals themselves make up for the small deficiencies. The integrative animal show at 1.00pm is a must. As well as feeding the birds and kangaroos. It was a wonderful up close and personal experience and for the price definitely a great family day out, even for hard to entertain teenagers!
