I've been coming to Lillies for years and over the last 12 months I've found it to have lost some of it's uniqueness. The location is good, the environment nice, even the homewares are enjoyable. Sitting outside amongst the lavender is lovely.
But the staff are clicky and look down at some of their customers - except their regulars.
WIth Second Home only a few hundred metres up the road, it's a better option these days.

We have visited Lillies a number of times for coffee and cake. Their cakes selection never disappoints. It's located in a quiet spot in Eltham and overlooks a French provincial garden. I would definitely recommend this place for a lunch or just coffee and cake.

New smiling faces amongst staff make this a very congenial place to dine, to stroll through lush gardens and to window-shop (if not buy) French finery and giftware. Food is delicious and elegantly plated. Full marks to management for the renaissance of this venue .

PS. Book well ahead of your visit.

Lilies on Brougham never ceases to disappoint. It is tucked away on an outer suburban road on the outskirts of north eastern Melbourne - a gem of a find, a small piece of rural France in one's own back yard inclusive of its rustic charm and bee loving lavender bushes. The cafe has a not too large menu, but always delicious. The store, at the moment, is decked out with Christmas goodies, more than enough to please most in the family. The garden, well that's another story. To sit outside under a canopy of sweet smelling roses, or an umbrella that hides the hot sun, is just a lovely thing to do whilst enjoying lunch. A walk around this delightful herbaceous garden provides a sense of tranquility but beware - there are signs dotted around advising of snake or snakes in the area. Make enough noise with your chatter and you probably won't be bothered. I am sure the herbs used on your lunch meal are all from this delightful rambling garden.
I always return and take all my friends from local Melbourne, from interstate and from overseas. It always pleases.
