Description: After 46 years, Ronnie and Clarice Holden decided it was time to share their love of Twin Lakes with their friends, The Watkins. In February of 2017 they began the new Twin Lakes By The Sea and it started to evolve into a year round restaurant with a southern flair added to it with some of Alysa's competition winning dishes added to the new menu. Now guests from all over the country can still get the best in Carolina cuisine with the Southern hospitality (coastal style) ...come add a little paradise to your evening at Twin Lakes By The Sea...where sunsets are always complimentary. Come dine on our new outdoor deck! Now open for lunch.

This used to be my favorite place to eat in the Sunset Beach area. I've been coming to this area for four years to vacation and would eat here at least twice every trip. We arrived in town on Sunday night and headed over for dinner on Monday evening. To my surprise, the restaurant was closed and the sign said closed on Tuesdays, too. Disappointed, we went elsewhere and that's where we heard that Twin Lakes was under new ownership. Undeterred, we went there tonight for dinner. So disappointed! This is not even close to the quality of the place a year ago. Food was average, menu was limited, service was... chaotic, prices were higher. Hardly any people there, either. This place was always bustling with locals; jovial, friendly, lively. Not anymore. We asked to sit outside and we're told outside seating was closed. 80 degrees on a September evening and no outdoor seating. Don't think we'll be back.

Our group of 8 ate supper here. Our waitress, Taylor, was friendly, efficient & helpful. The restaurant wasn't very crowded at all. We had beautiful cocktails, and wonderful food. The dinners chosen by our group were: Fried Shrimp, Grilled Shrimp, Seafood (? combo ?), Crab Cakes, baked potato, sweet potato, collard greens. we enjoyed the boom boom shrimp, fish bites and calamari for appetizers. Everything was very good, and we will definitely come back again next year. For the senior's plate, a dessert came with the meal, so one friend had key lime pie, as they were "out" of ice cream, which was advertised. The restaurant was clean, and the scenery was beautiful. Oh, and the hushpuppies were to die for.

Please people be aware, this is not a same restaurant everyone used to go thru the years and enjoy. With new management food quality went down while food prices went up. Very poorly prepared dishes, I felt that my fried fish was cooked in the morning and microwaved for dinner service, it was cool and soggy. Plate is full of unpleasant food.
The only item on a plate somewhat tasted good was a baked potato, hush puppies were greasy. Save your money , so many good places to eat in the area.

Very unwelcoming and awkward visit. Visited around 6pm in the evening--the restaurant was not busy. The hostess was abrupt and unwelcoming--sat us in a hallway by the men's room with a view of the gravel parking lot.. (Lots of open tables in other areas of the restaurant.) Crab cake was mostly breading with very little crab. Shrimp tacos were ordinary. French fries were cold, dry and stale. So many wonderful restaurants in the area--unfortunate this one was so unsatisfactory.

Total disappointment after a decade of eating at Twin Lakes at least once during our yearly vacation. Grumpy server, over cooked hush puppies, under-seasoned shrimp and clams. Major menu down grade. Whatever changed, ownership or cooks, wasn't a good thing!
