Description: After 46 years, Ronnie and Clarice Holden decided it was time to share their love of Twin Lakes with their friends, The Watkins. In February of 2017 they began the new Twin Lakes By The Sea and it started to evolve into a year round restaurant with a southern flair added to it with some of Alysa's competition winning dishes added to the new menu. Now guests from all over the country can still get the best in Carolina cuisine with the Southern hospitality (coastal style) ...come add a little paradise to your evening at Twin Lakes By The Sea...where sunsets are always complimentary. Come dine on our new outdoor deck! Now open for lunch.

I am a property owner at Sunset Beach and have been coming to Twin Lakes since 1972. Our visit in September will be my last. I was excited to show my 3 girlfriends what a great place Twin Lakes was. The server was unfriendly and aloof, the food was mediocre at best and the meals did not live up to the menu description. Our server promised that the "shrimp étoufée" would indeed be shrimp stuffed with crabmeat. When it arrived, there was no crabmeat in the shrimp. The server had to point out bits of crabmeat that were floating around in the dish. Our next night out was at Boundary House in Calabash which provided excellent service and delicious seafood at a great price. Goodbye, Twin Lakes.

We rented a home on Sunset Beach and golfed late on Saturday night. Wanted a good place for dinner and had stopped at Twin Lakes back on prior golf trip. It was after 7:00 and the place was busy, but they got us a table right away. We like home cooked, fresh food and don't go in for fancy food. Twin Lakes had a nice selection of fresh seafood and steaks, etc. and our meals were good with large portions! Husband had ribs, with fresh cut fries and house salad that seemed to be more of a Chef salad since it had eggs, cheese, etc. on it! I had grilled Salmon with salad and of course Hush Puppies, yum! Our waitress was quick, friendly and we throughly enjoyed our dinner. On our way out the hostess told us about their Sunday, Country Style Menu from 11 to 2 which featured several of our favorites, pan fried chicken and meatloaf. We plan on coming back again on next trip.

This restaurant features local seafood and other specialties. It's very reasonable to eat here and the service is good. The side salad is very generous, except that it had iceberg lettuce in it that I don't care much for. That would be my only small complaint. The ambience is very nice but not formal.

This used to be my favorite place to eat in the Sunset Beach area. I've been coming to this area for four years to vacation and would eat here at least twice every trip. We arrived in town on Sunday night and headed over for dinner on Monday evening. To my surprise, the restaurant was closed and the sign said closed on Tuesdays, too. Disappointed, we went elsewhere and that's where we heard that Twin Lakes was under new ownership. Undeterred, we went there tonight for dinner. So disappointed! This is not even close to the quality of the place a year ago. Food was average, menu was limited, service was... chaotic, prices were higher. Hardly any people there, either. This place was always bustling with locals; jovial, friendly, lively. Not anymore. We asked to sit outside and we're told outside seating was closed. 80 degrees on a September evening and no outdoor seating. Don't think we'll be back.
