“Great B&B!”
Reviewed 26 March 2012

We spent two nights at the Yellow House last week and were very impressed with the rooms, hospitality, ambience and the beautiful grounds. The location is perfect as it is in the country but close to the downtown Waynesville shops and restaurants. Shawn is a first class host. There was a small appetizer plate in our room every evening and free flowing port in the main house. The breakfasts were excellent. If you are lookiing for a nice B&B in the Waynesville/Asheville area, this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: We saw all the rooms and they all looked great but were different in size and amenities. Choose the...

I can't tell you how wonderful it was to stumble into the Yellow House after a day hiking in the Smokey Mountains where, after already hiking 3 miles, we found the bridge was out! Yep, it was cold and I was wet while finishing up the last 2 miles. Shawn was there with a glass of port and the lovely happy hour had begun with wine and enough snacks to almost spoil dinner. Save room for dinner at The Frog's Leap in Waynesville!

Our room was cozy even though there was a king bed, jacuzzi and sitting area. Did I say how warm that gas fireplace was? Oh, and did I fail to mention the stuffed french toast, fresh fruit, eggs any way you want them with or without bacon. Yes, there were biscuits. You don't want to miss spending time at the Yellow House.............

Room Tip: We looked at all of the rooms and they were all wonderful.

We stayed at the yellow house for Valentine's Day. The owner and keeper Shawn, thought of absolutely everything! Their was not a thing missing from the great tasting port, chocolate covered strawberries, and warm fireplace. The peaceful music that constantly plays throughout the house brought a nice sense of relaxation (music can be tuned off in your room and also shuts off at 11:00 every night). My wife and I had the entire house to ourselves, however our room had everything we needed. The breakfast was unique and tasty!
Thanks Shawn!

Our first stay at a B&B and it was fantastic! We stayed for two nights in late December and had such a nice relaxing few days. Shawn Bresnahan, the Innkeeper, is so delightful. He was very informative about the area, restauarants, and day trips. The Breakfast was delicious. And the afternoon Wine and Cheese was nice to meet the other quests.
We stayed in the St. Paul de Vence room on the lower level. The view over the lower pond was so relaxing with morning coffee or afternoon port. The room was beautiful and large. We had the opportunity to look at all the rooms and each had their own unique quality.
We will be back and have recommended The Yellow House on Plott Creek Road to others.
Shawn, Thanks for Everything. Connie and the Ladies were so welcoming, helpful and graious. You all made our short getaway so special. We will return.

We loved our overnight stay at The Yellow House. The location is easily found up a pastoral valley a short distance off the highway. The home and grounds are charming and very well kept. The proprietor Shawn was as friendly and welcoming as he could be, and made us feel right at home. Although one of the three least expensive rooms, our Carolina room was delightfully decorated and very cozy, with a most comfortable bed and working gas fireplace. We spent the late afternoon reading on the deck beside the pond that we could see from our second floor windows. There are many nice touches - a wraparound porch perfect for mulling life over; snacks, candy, coffee, tea and port always available; chocolate chip cookies upon arrival; wine, cheese and appetizers at 5 pm; and a warm library stocked with new and old books. The breakfast, which we chose to have served in our room, was delicious and ample - juice, coffee, baked apples with cinamon and raisins, sausage/egg/potato casserole, a tomato slice baked with bread crumbs, and homemade biscuits and jam, Wow! The Yellow House well exceeded our expectations and earned our decision to return as soon as we can.

First of all, we have stayed at the Yellow House once a year for five years and always loved the area, and the hospitality of the staff. We have had rooms away from the main house and prefer these for romantic vacations and peace and quite. This past week we stayed at a room in the main house, what a mistake............the other guests were exceptionally loud! And the wifi didn't work properly. We will probably visit again.
