Review of The Greeks

The Greeks
Ranked #93 of 732 Restaurants in Wilmington
Price range: US$0 - US$9
Cuisines: Deli, Greek
Description: Come to the only authentic Greek restaurant in Wilmington serving gourmet food. Our falafel has been awarded and mentioned in several food guides, it is made in house, by hand, with local and fresh ingredients. Our tzatziki, our hummus, our tahini, everything is made in our restaurant on a daily basis. We hand cut our meats, all from North Carolina. Our gyro is on a spit, hand carved and served. Our prices are extremely competitive based on our quality and the portion of food served. Come in for the truly authentic Greek experience.

Had lunch at The Greeks in the (new) Monkey Junction location (5120 S. College St).
Very casual atmosphere, friendly service, family run business. We had chicken souvlaki gyros. The chicken was moist, tender and flavorful. A side Greek salad was a nice option instead of fries. Enjoyed it!

I was never in the Princess location, but I can tell you that the College Rd. location (in the same strip as Boar's Head deli and El Cerro Grande) is spic-and-span, friendly, and has great Greek food. Their gyro and pita come from Chicago (my home town) where there are many Greeks and Greek restaurants, so you know it's going to be good.
I had a lamb/beef gyro on pita with tzatdziki, tabouli and sweet tea. The sandwich was very substantial and the tabouli was delicious and had a nice, tart lemony quality.
The missus had the falafel platter with Greek salad and tabouli. The falafel were perfectly seasoned and neither too dense, nor too light in texture.
Neither of us could finish everything (and we were hungry!) so it gives you some idea about portion sizes. The Greeks give you your money's worth of good food. I should mention that everything tasted homemade (with the exception of the gyros, of course, since we have neither lambs, nor beef cattle grazing around Wilmington) and our meals were ready when I got there, all packed up to go.
You owe it to yourself to stop in if you enjoy Greek food.

This is as authentic as Greek food can be in Wilmington! The new location is 5120 S. College Road in the Monkey Junction area near the Walmart and Lowe's. The building has been beautifully redone and has both indoor and outdoor seating. It is clean and inviting, though basic. The Greek family that owns this remains true to Greek and Mediterranean food and have a sincere desire to give you an experience like that in their home country. The food - everything we have ever had - is simply the best and their counter service is so cheery because of the attitude of the family - they want to be there and do what they do!

We had Gyros (both lamb and chicken), greek salad, tzatziki, and fries. All of the food was fresh, made to order, even had the lamb spit for gyros right there. The food was delicious and authentic. Our only suggestion is that the restaurant (which just newly moved to it's new location) needs a better food fan because it got smokey as orders were made during dinner rush. Highly recommend.

The Greeks moved from downtown to just off Carolina beach road in the Monkey Junction area. Same great food and still love their gyros and salads. Highly recommend!
