Worth your time and money! Old Salem is not on the scale of Williamsburg but very enjoyable and a pleasure to visit

I have had the opportunity to visit Old Salem Museums & Gardens three times this year with teachers and students from The Academy at Middle Fork. Our fourth and fifth grade students loved having the opportunity to explore historic places and sites in small groups. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable about the area and its rich history. Each visit, I learn something new and enjoy how interactive it is. I highly recommend for school field trips, family outings and history lessons.

The town is fabulous but the museum parking is so small there was no spot. Other lot too far away for geezers. So didn't stay and see it. Maybe next time.

Can't recommend this place enough. It's great for a lovely afternoon stroll. A must stop is the bakery, where you can buy Moravian sugar cake and cookies, along with delicious bread. The graveyard is also a very lovely place for a walk.

Visited with four adults and 6 kids ranging from toddler to 14. Everyone enjoyed it and we spent about 5 hours there! Great lunch at the tea shop/ cafe. Kids especially loved the woodworkers shop, boys school, and doctors office.
