The traffic from Bucharest to Baia de Fier is light, and as soon as you enter the yard full of dandelions (in May) of Livada de Nuci, you forget about the urban agitation and stress. You are in the middle of gentle mountain hills, near a river, and the only sounds you hear come from the cheerful songs of the birds.
The accommodation is in wooden houses with living room and 2 bedrooms, equipped with kitchen and everything necessary for your comfort. Everything is clean and nicely arranged, with delicious, fresh food - my favorites were the home-made cherry jam and the turkey soup. The hosts are one of a kind, they always have a surprise for their guests, from the herbal syrup prepared in-house, to other joy-bringing beverages. In the morning, you can jumpstart your mood on the tennis field, a sports to try, even if you have not practiced it before, for the sake of movement, good mood and of learning something new, as it was in my case. From here you can easily reach several tourist locations - caves, monasteries, not to mention Constantin Brancusi sculptural ensemble in Targu Jiu.
It's a safe choice for those who want a quiet retreat to reconnect with themselves and spend relaxing moments with friends or family, enjoying the richness of nature, from its beauty to its culinary delights.
