We had reservations at AmericanBest, they double booked & sent us to Canad Inns. The best thing they ever did, it was wonderful, the comforters were wonderful, I wish they could tell me where I could buy one, they were so nice. The hot tub in the pool area came with the room reservation free, it was nice.
This is one of the best hotels in Grand Rapids.

We stayed at Canad in the weekend of May 4 to 6 and we were not pleased with the service from the front desk and the small rooms. We requested and paid for a king size bed and a pull out and got a double with a pull out. Upon complaining to the front desk and the manager on duty, we were told there was nothing they could do.

The rooms are small and stuffy. You have to have the air on just to move the air around. The room did have a coffee maker, fridge and microwave.

The elevators are the worst. Very slow!!! You need to use a room card to move to your floor.

Couple of good notes, goes to the maintenance staff who replaced the broken air-conditioner unit with in ten minutes with in the first half hour of getting our room. Also the Tavern staff were very attentive and pleasant.

Our friends (who paid the same as we did) got suite! It has allot of room and split up in to two rooms and have two bathrooms. If you are a family this is the way to go. The other rooms are to small.

Other then the water park, In my opinion, there are way better options in Grand Forks where the staff are pleasant and more than willing to make your stay a happy one.

Room Tip: Stay else where and just come to use the water park!

I would highly recommend for a family to stay. The restaurants were good, the Altos was a bit slow though.

The water park was the best!

We found this hotel quite nice but very expensive. We paid $169.oo per night for a 2 queen room. It was not a very big room and the ventilation was not great. The sound proofing was pretty good. They have a beautiful water park with slides and a lazy river which was a lot of fun, however it cost us another $50.00 because this was not included in the room cost. We were five of us. There was no complimentary breakfast either.

We are just ending a weekend with our kids here. My husband is participating in the Home Show so we joined him. This is a nice facility and I can only sum it up as party central, which can be good and bad.

The waterpark is great, but $10 per person per day. We had a great time early in the day but by noon it was packed with birthday parties. The arcade was great for the kids. Many dining choices and the pizza is great. There was a small craft fair Saturday morning and glitter tattoos and face painting for the kids. Also very close to shopping.

The one party I could have done without was the one outside my room fro 10 pm to 3 am. I had to call security at 11, 1 and 3 am to ask the drunk women's hockey team be asked to return to their rooms. Each time they only got a little warning, absolutely no enforcement on the quiet time they have posted in the hallway. I realize the party was not the fault of the hotel but they did not do their best to end it. Three warnings is 2 too many. My last call should have been to the police rather than the front desk.

The next morning I confirmed with the front desk that the hockey team would be staying the next night so I asked for our family to be moved to a new room. They did that with no problems and gave us four passes to the waterpark. I think that they should have asked the team to leave. Upset a whole floor of guests to accommodate a few rooms of drunk and disorderly people? Not a good move.

My 9 year old daughter found a beer caan behind the drapes so housekeeping should maybe step it up a notch. The common areas are quite clean.

But really, there is a lot to do here. It is fun, always busy. Not the best place if you are looking to relax. Good place to visit with the family but could get spendy with the water park and arcade. Just check to see if there are sports teams on your floor!

First time to the Destination Center. This place is HUGE for Grand Forks. They have an indoor waterpark (more for kids then adults, only one/two larger slides), but still fun for kids of all ages. The hotel is in the center of it all, 4 restaurants, convention center etc. My room was very clean and well laid out. Everything worked as it should. We went to 3 of the restaurants and enjoyed fare at each one. The only issue I had here was that since this place is so big, you get mixed responses from the employees. Most are very attentive and helpful and willing to please, where every now and then you get the employee with the "I could care less" attitude and seem to be more interested in texting their friends then assisting someone who is standing 2 feet away. Hopefully management will weed these people out. Other then that - overall very nice experience and would certainly consider staying here again. A few bad apples did not spoil the barrel.
