“Loved it!!!”
Reviewed 4 September 2008

I was quite worried after reading the reviews about this hotel and the food, but needn't have- the food was great, we stayed all inclusive, no real sausage or bacon for breakfast, much to my partners disappointment lol, but my daughter and I are quite fussy eaters and I would have to say there was something for everyone, meat, salads, fruit, lots of gorgeous bread.
Hot dogs and sandwiches by the pool bar during the day if you didnt want to go up to the restaurant.
Very efficient staff, bar, restaurant, reception, tip the maids if you can, we just wrote "tip" on paper and left it in a glass with some change in the room, they do a great job.
Lots of germans at the hotel, we counted about 4 english families in our weeks stay, but the staff still make the effort in english, my daughter (age 8) did not join the "german" kids club, but she did enjoy the night time show although in german as the animation team did such a good job with the costumes, make-up music etc.
If you go in summer its worth paying for air con, we did and it ended up being 40 degrees centigrade at the end of august!!
The beach is a short walk from the pool its 21 lev (about £8) for 2 sunbeds and a parasol for the day.
Outside the hotel there are all sorts of transport, but we took the electric train (3 lev pp) as it was the cheapest and quickest, if you need a taxi take the ones with the fares displayed on the windscreens. Although we were all inclusive, we went out for teajust to sample the different restaurants, one just outside the hotel "The House", gorgeous food and kareoke so lots of english here!! Another good one is The Condor Garden Bistro, you need to get to the centre at the casino near Sunny Beach Mall and follow the main street just past the Mania nightclub, fantastic place staff very friendly and a lovely clown who entertains the kids (and adults). Its best wearing sensible shoes on a night, as the pavements are quite wonky, i wore wedges the first night and ended up with a bad back!! lol!!
Nessebar is worth a visit for the lovely little streets with lots of handmade stuff and cultural feel.
We will definately be coming back to sunny beach!!!

The hotel it's self is lovely. Very clean and has everything you need either in the hotel or close by.

The food was a bit on the poor side, our first week was brilliant we could eat there all the time but the second week the food was awful.

The hotel did have some entertainment for children but unfortunately it was all done in German so didn't benefit our children.

Georges restaurant which is built on to the hotel is fantastic and well worth a visit and excellent service.

The reception staff are not very helpful they told us they didn't speak English but understood what we said when we paid our phone bill funnily enough.

I stayed here with my sister and 7 year old daughter on an all inclusive basis, we came in at evening time, so went straight for dinner, I can't describe the smell in the restaurant, but we selected some food and it was inedible, we thought as it was late in the evening we just got the dregs of the dinner, breakfast however was no different, if you bought value choco snaps left them out opened for 6 weeks, compared to what we ate those coco snaps would've tasted like lindt bunnies, the usual ingredients for an english breakfast was served but no amount of ketchup could've covered the taste and I really don't like boiled frankfurters, the bread and butter was tasteless, however the rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday, clean towels everyday as well, the pool area was spotless and the drink wasn't bad either. The staff were friendly and very accomodating, the quickly let us change rooms as their was no air conditioning in the first room, the charge was 60 lev about £20. Though entertainment was catered for the German clientele including the kids club, my daughter went but felt very excluded. We left every evening as it was very cheap to eat and dink out in Sunny Beach, though it is a purpose built holiday resort, think of blackpool in the sun.
