We travelled with Thomson Holidays from England on18th to 26th June. Our room, (430) did not have a sea view, we saw into a room with a view and wished we had changed. However, the room was big enough for 2 and kept very clean by the maid who came in every day. The air con never went below 22 degrees, since it was exceptionally hot the whole time we were there it would have been better if it could have been set lower, that is our only complaint about the room. All the public areas were kept very clean and all the staff were very pleasant and friendly.

Breakfast was a bit of a scrum, too many people trying to get their food at the same time. Also, some people allowed their children to help themselves, not a good thing when they were getting boiling water for tea and coffee. Not the hotel's fault though, just common sense, which some people seem to leave at home. The bacon could have done with being separated and cooked a bit longer. Plenty of choice to suit the different nationalities. The orange juice was a big disappointment, just coloured water. The tables were always set up for the first diners but after that they often had crockery, salt and pepper, sugar etc missing. Not really a problem but just a bit of a nuisance.

Dinner was in two sittings, 6.30 to 8pm and 8pm to 9.30pm. Seems that parents and young children went to the first sitting. Choice ot two soups every night. Large selection of salads and plenty of choice with pasta, meats etc. Deserts were different cakes, mousses, ice cream and fresh and canned fruit. Drinks were not included and we found them quite poor, in particular the white wine, not to my taste at all and the glass was hardly filled, certainly not worth the money.

Outside, there is a lobby bar on the terrace, very hot during the day. The pool bar is popular and hosts the karaoke contests, cocktails are 2 for the price of 1 from 3pm, fairly good selection but certainly not full of alcohol! Bar service is excellent and the waitresses are very quick to get your drinks. We never went to the animation shows so can't comment. There are two swimming pools which are kept very clean, as are the sun loungers and pool surrrounds, The loungers have nice padded covers, makes a nice change to hard seats. Guests are encouraged to take part in activities but not nagged into it. The pools are kept at 26 degrees. Handy toilets at either side of both pools so no long journeys back to the hotel. Again, these toilets are cleaned constantly.

The beach is just over the road from the hotel, sun loungers cost 4 lev each per day, plus 4 lev for a parasol, these prices are for Majestic Hotel guests. If you want to just lie on a towel then you have to use the piece of sand at the top of the beach, you can't even lie on the water's edge. The sand is burning hot and you must wear some kind of sandals or you will burn the soles of your feet. The water is warm, not quite caribbean temperature but not far off, water sports on the beach but we did not use them so can't comment.

Not so good ...
Our son and his partner have a very young baby and were in Block 2 on the 7th floor. Despite having a lift, they still had to lift the buggy up several steps to get back to their room.

Our flight was in the early hours of the morning and we had to vacate our room at 12 mid day, we booked the courtesy room to shower etc. Room is far too small and with so many people using it the floor was constantly flooded as the drain does not drain away fast enough - an accident waiting to happen.

Trips - we went on the Southern Explorer which goes to a nature reserve where we were told to expect to see water snakes and turtles, unfortunately we saw nothing at all except water. We did have a meal on the trip but this was after having a very long walk in the scorching heat in Sozopol - certainly not worth the money and hard going for those who may not be so able bodied. The other trip was the Catamaran Trip - again nothing to write home about and not cheap.

To sum up, we were there for one week, this was certainly long enough for us as there are only so many times you can walk along the front and look at the shops. Can't complain about the weather as it was exceptionally hot.

Would we recommend the hotel? Yes
Would we go back? No, it's a big world out there.

Room Tip: It seems rooms with odd numbes have sea views

We stayed for a week after our wedding and had an amazing time. We certainly stayed at the right end of the beach but were still able to walk into the more livelier end if needed. The hotel itself was wonderful and more than I expected as was the food. The weather was very hot and we were grateful of the lovely airconditioning in the rooms would recommend this hotel happily but myst also say the helena resort looked very good as well.

Stayed with my husband for a week mid June 2012 we had a sea view room on 9th floor which was perfect, lovely and clean, lifts to floor 9 was no problem never waiting long. Reception staff were always smiling and very helpfull. Restaurant manager was very welcoming food was excellent could not fault any meals plenty of choice for breakfast and evening meal. Pool area had plenty of sunbeds and was always spotlesley clean at all times.Hotel is situated in the nicer part of sunny beach away from the main area but with easy walking distance to main centre if you wanted to hop on a bus they were all very regular from hotel and cheep only 1 lev to travel about 5 miles.

Room Tip: Worth paying extra for sea view we had room 905 which is almost in middle of main building facing se...

we stayed here for one week on the 15th of June. There was a couple of small complaints one was when we checked in was about 12.45 am Friday night, a porter took us up to the room and the key didn't work he used his to get us into the room. I tipped him then we had to go back down to get our keys sorted. Thought he would have that. And the other complaint was on our 1st night the waiter took our room number bought us the bill and we put the money in where the receipt was and said do we sign this he said yes. We said keep the change, not realising that he thought that was a tip and they charged it to our room.it was on the second night I realized when they said cash or on your room. So I checked with reception and it was on my room so in affect I'd paid twice. They sorted it out for us. Also on our last night when we checked out the guy behind the reception asked us if we could swop some £20.00 notes for £10.00 notes, I swoped him one as we were in a rush for the bus. Then when I got home realized that it was an old note, lucky the bank took it.
That's the faults out the way. The room we had was a lovely studio overlooking the pool and sea on the 8th floor. The said they had upgraded us free of charge. It was lovely and clean and modern. Cleaned every day.
Food was fine, the odd time I warmed it up in the microwave, but it was nice.
Hire the safe 6 legs per day. Late check out 20 levs per hour. What I did was book an extra night on traverl republic so I knew I had a room on the last day.
Pool area lovely, always got a sun bed. Nice and comfy.
Only thing what sometimes gets on your nerves is the people that come round taking pictures. 10 levs. I had a couple but they come round a bit too much.
Weather was red hot.
Its a bout a 25 min walk to the main bit. But plenty of things to do on the way.
Nessbar was nice to visit. Go on the bus, its only 1 Lev each taxi prob 25.
Loved the hotel and will not hesitate to go back. We had a great holiday.
Most of the bars charge for the toilet, 50 cents, yes its not a lot but when you are using there bars to drink it should be free. If you give them 1 Lev you don't get change. Ladies take your own toilet roll as you are rashioned to 3 sheets.
Taxi from the airport I think was about 70 levs, I seen it on a taxi window. We had a bus. 30 minutes transfer ish.
Go and enjoy great hotel.

Me and my husband stayed at the majestic hotel June 2012 the hotel was absolutely gorgeous very clean and in a brilliant location. I would recommend
A sea view room which we stayed in as the view is lovely. I am really fussy with food and could not fault the restaurant or buffet. I will defiantly be returning. In regards to there not being enough sun beds we got up around twelve each day and had a selection to choose from so ignore other comments. Dimitar berbatov was actually staying in the hotel at the time do enough said if a footballer who plays for Manchester united stays there the hotel must be of very high standard, staff were very friendly And could not do more for you.

Stayed here at the end of May for a week, First half of the week was awful weather-but you cannot change the weather! However hotel made up for this, stunning hotel both inside and outside. Cleanliness is great-Maids cleaning all of the time. We had a one bedroom apartment comprising of one bedroom with a very big double bed, and a sofa bed in the separate lounge area, also a small kitchenette which included a ketttle, toaster, small hob and fridge. Everything was included such as glasses, plates, cutlery etc. There was even washing up liquid and a sponge to wash the dishes.
We paid extra for a sea and pool view, we were not disappointec. We had stunning views-We had a railing on the balcony, as opposed to a brick balcony, I do not know what those views would be like. Curtains were great and blocked out the early morning sun.
We decided to hire a safe for a week, which was provided in our room, we paid 36 lev for the week, and had no problems with this.
Pool was cold, however this is the same everywhere, and once you got in, was not a problem. There were always plenty of sun loungers, I did not see any cases of reserving with towels. Sun loungers also had padded cushions which are a lot comfier than those loungers with nothing on, like you get at some hotels. The hotel also provide pool towels, which they then change daily at the pool between 4-5pm.
Food was great-plenty of choice, and I can honestly say, I did not see any main meal being repeated through the week I was there. My son loved the pancakes for breakfast every day, there were also croissants as well as a wide range of other breakfast items. The restaurant manager was very friendly, greeted you upon arrival and remembered our name. I know the restaurant does get busy, however we never had a wait for a table.
Magdalena from guest relations was fantastic-Very polite, friendly and done everything she could to make sure you were happy throughout your stay. She arranged for us to have extra pillows, quilts, and an extra balcony chair for outside. Magdalena also booked us a table at a local restaurant when we asked for help. All this was also done with a genuine smile!
The animation team offered games around the pool, and also provided evening entertainment, I did not participate personally, but people seemed to be enjoing them.
The hotel is located at the quiet end of the strip, however it is a pleasant walk to get to the main part, there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants on the way. And if you do not want to walk, there is a bus nearby that you can catch for 1 lev.
We were a family comprising of a teenager, 30 year old, and a 55+, we all thoroughly enjoyed this stay, and are in the process of booking again for next year. Having stayed in other Sunny Beach hotels, we cannot think of going anywhere else but the Majestic from now on!

Room Tip: Pool and sea view

Amazing hotel friendly staff all though the kids entertainment isn't all that good it more than makes up for it it's location is amazing due to the fact it's only a twenty minute walk to flower street or ten lev in a taxi but don't use the ones at the front if the hotel they charge 20lev walk to the supermarket on the road on the way out you will be stopped by the bloke trying to get you in the steak house next door though hahaha he's brill though and speaks really good English even with a southern accent hahaha but at the same time of a night time there is no noise because it's just far enough out

The security team are super and keep you safe all though we haven't seen any trouble if you ask me they have an easy job but don't be put off by how many of them they are it's a big hotel

The food
Not fantastic but eadable none the less it all depends what you like there is a wide choice but something's are really bizzare ie shark and octopus
Avoid all the mc Donald's on sunny beach they are very poor actually rephrase that they are disgusting and the cleanliness well a public loo in Manchester would be In a better state

All in all sunny beach and the majestic hotel are great value for money

Hope this helps
