We stayed in a standard room with a king bed. It was probably the largest standard room I've ever stayed in. It was fairly clean, but I don't think the carpet had been vacuumed for quite some time & the was lots of hair on the office chair. The bagged to-go breakfast was impressive (bacon & cheese or sausage & cheese breakfast sandwich, yogurt, orange & a bottle of juice). The lady that checked us out was super nice too. Good place to stay for a night, plus there's a Boston Pizza in the same parking lot, convenient for a quick bit to eat.

Hotel was nice, room comfortable and staff friendly. I found it odd that the coffee machine was in the room but no coffee or mugs. It would have been safer to serve myself coffee in the room rather than go to a public space and pour myself coffee from canisters that had been touch by everyone in the hotel. These canisters were not wiped down. The breakfast was served by a very hardworking staff member. It might have been a better idea if she handed out the utensils rather than everyone handling the utensil dispensing machine. They were working hard at their COVID protocols but missed cleaning a few high traffic touch points.

Overall, we did enjoy our stay at this lovely, clean Canalta hotel. Kudos to whoever is responsible for the mini botanic gardens around the front door! How beautiful and welcoming - it says somebody cares about this place! Our spacious third floor room had a vaulted ceiling and good sized windows, with curtains that closed properly to block out the light. We loved the large desk and sofa in the room, and the Mother Earth Essential soaps and shampoos are wonderful! During COVID, many hotels are just giving out breakfast bags, but this hotel is serving up a hardly, hot breakfast using appropriate COVID protocols - you request the food items you would like from their selection.

Unfortunately, typical for Canalta hotels, the bed was hard and uncomfortable - we've stayed at many different ones over the years, and most seem to have this problem. It was odd that apparently due to COVID, this hotel has removed ice buckets, and all cups and glasses from the rooms, as well the coffee pods and fixings - we've stayed at a variety of hotel chains during COVID, and this is the first time we've encountered this. You can request a bag for ice, as well as coffee pods and cups from the front desk, however. One ice machine now serves the entire hotel.
