My family and I were in one of the split rooms. Comparing was obvious, so it's strange they did not update both rooms at the same time. My parents got a nice flatscreen TV in their room. We were stuck with an analoge television and a digital cable box, which was really awkward. (We have an analouge TV with the analoge cable and a flatscreen TV with the digital box.) Breakfast was palitable. They also had a small package of coffee and tea in our room.

There was no microwave in our room so to heat a bottle for the baby I had to go to the common area. The hostess smelt as though she just smoked a joint. The pillows and beds are as old as the hotel. Requested an outside access that did not work. Absolutely no sound proofing felt sorry for the people in the room next to us as the baby never slept because the people above us kept us up. This is the last time we ever stay would rather drive the short trip to get a decent room!

First impression of our first floor room? How neat that we could unload our stuff like a motel, but walk out the opposite door of the room to an interior hallway like a hotel! Lasting impression of our first floor room? There was a girls' sports team above us...with not a whole lot of courtesy for when to settle into bed and stay there.
That said, our bedroom was spacious enough, bed spreads tired-looking, shower curtain ripped, but overall very clean and front desk service excellent. The pillows were scary flat (thankfully we had our own), and the bed had a crinkly-sounding mattress protector, but the bed itself was surprisingly comfortable. The A/C heat unit was easy to use & quiet. We had a small fridge; no microwave. We didn't use the tv, but the wifi was fast.
Although the breakfast room is nice enough, the breakfast itself is basic carbs with very limited choices (bread, two muffins, two cereals, waffles). Even a bowl of fruit and/or some packages of yogurt would go a long ways to perk it up and better reflect the "superstart" advertising. (There is a Smitty's nearby, as well as fast food and groceries if you want fruit or protein.)
Didn't realize it was a smoking property, but was thankful to have a room located away from the smoking rooms.

Stayed for two weeks in Taber of which a week was at the Super 8. I generally don’t stay in a 2 star accommodation and I struggled a bit. I think for a night or two or if you are just passing through, the accommodations would be fine and are inexpensive enough.

It is a two star so you can’t expect too much I know (2 star is the highest choice in Taber). But I did stay at the Heritage Inn the second week (also a 2 star) and felt much more comfortable there.

The Super 8 is relatively clean and is apparently the “newer” hotel in Taber. The carpet in the general areas (stairs) looks a little tattered and stained, I assume from work boots, etc. The rooms are average size and for the most part are kept clean and livable. My room had a queen bed and a table and chairs along with a recliner that I am sure Archie Bunker would have been proud of. The furniture is of a second hand store quality and appears cheap and mismatched.

The bed was adequate and the sleep was fine. Pillows were thin and unfortunately only two are supplied (I like to have big or multiple pillows for comfort). The room did have a mini fridge and the hotel supplied Movie Central free of charge which was appreciated. Shower was fine but the tub wasn’t very clean…well perhaps it was clean but didn’t appear so as it looked like some stickers/grips had been removed.

The “breakfast” was minimal but was free. It is basically a bunch of carbs, waffles, some muffins, cereal, toast, coffee and juice. I didn’t touch it but I others did. Despite both juices being empty the front desk seemed too busy (personal conversation on the phone) to worry about it.

Overall, if you want a cheap bed to stay for a night the Super 8 is fine, if you don’t mind spending an extra $20 bucks or are staying longer term, go to the Heritage Inn (see my review on TA).

We stayed two nights in this motel as we were attending a family reunion. Rooms were clean and comfortable, continental breakfast was adequate and met our needs. No luxury here, but the price met the room and motel quality. Good motel!

Very basic accommodations. The bed was rock hard. Room was freezing cold when we got there. There were teenagers running through the halls until 1 am. The superstart breakfast is a superbad joke. Don't expect more than toast and coffee. I'll drive to Lethbridge the next time I need a room.
