I’m writing a comprehensive review to highlight the positives and reflect items that could use a change.
The resort is small but very nice. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They have chairs set up outside on the back lawn area and also on the beach. The view is spectacular of the lake.
I booked a room with a lake view and that was really pushing it. Our room was small, no nicer than any main stream hotel, and our bed faced a wall with tv. To actually see the lake you would have to walk to the end of the room and either side-eye it or go onto the balcony. When I reserved the room, the advertisement on the site stated lake view. I expected full lake view so that was disappointing. There should be options for partial or full view. For a boutique hotel with boutique prices, I was not impressed.
The sheets were soft and comfortable but the mattress was in dire need of replacing. Both me and my husband had sore backs after. The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable.
The food was really good from the restaurant and very generous portions. Under current restrictions it is room service only and a limited menu. Hopefully the menu expands with new upcoming guidelines. I recommend going to Scotch Creek for more dining options. Its a short drive from the lodge.
The spa is fantastic. I have been twice and had probably one of the best massages I have ever had. They also have a nice line of products to purchase.
I rate this 4 because of the service, location, spa and view. The room in and of itself would be a 2.5/5
