OK so I tried to write a google review but it wouldn’t let me… then they shut off their Facebook review option so it looks like it’s 4.7 stars but I don’t think thts the case anymore lol…. But let me tell you about my visit :)
I booked for my 27th bday - called a week and a half ahead for 2 people - they said they only had 1 reso time left and they were busy so I took it.

When we got there it was dead they literally tried to seat us in a 2 top table between 2 server stands beside a window with a view of a bbq and like storage items 🤣so I asked for something with a view or literally any other table then that one. - also throughout our whole meal, yes it didn’t get busy after 730/8 pm and still no one sat at that horrid table until 830 when a single woman who was talking on their phone the entire time came in.

We got a new table and ordered our drinks.. literally only cognac they had was remy Martin but whatever… we order Shuswap board and salmon flat bread.. it was good 👍🏼 but def not bannock.

We ordered Bison and Halibut(as server suggested) and let me tell you- I smelled that stinky fish from across the restaurant 🤣 it was soooo stanky but I was like ok it’s fine I’ll try it. I have never tried anything so rank. I really tried to like it, but all I could taste was a fish tank, in every bite.

The server saw I was not eating it and didn’t pay any mind when I said I really didn’t like it, neither did my partner, and I was going to order something else - I ordered the pheasant.

In the meantime my partner ate the bison and LET ME TELL YOU. That was perfect. The whole meal, the cook on the bison, the flavour- it was top notch (and we eat a lot of game meat, and are avid hunters). 10/10 meal.

We waited for so long for the pheasant, which I understand but I am a server myself - and if a guest has to wait for a new meal while the other guest eats theirs… you should probably offer a complimentary salad or soup etc.. or at least check on the table.

So the pheasant came and it again WAS BOMB. I loved it. Cooked to perfection and the flavour was amazing.

I was counting on dessert but after how long I waited for the next meal I was so over being there so I passed on that and just wanted to leave. And before you say I’m rude, I was polite this entire time, we were patient, nice, and understanding because I could tell the server was new and didn’t know much about any of the menus from the beginning.

We still tipped her well. But I am notttttt impressed on the fact that we paid full for 3 meals ($40+ each) and I wasn’t even asked about the halibut or what was wrong and I feel like it’s because the server was afraid to tell the kitchen something negative lmao.

All in all.. I will not be back. And I live in the area so I was really hoping on proving those who told me bad things wrong, but that I cannot do. Other than - the bison is bomb and the pheasant was bomb.. but something was FOR SURE wrong with the fish meal unless the goal was no flavour whatsoever.

The whole experience at Quaaout Lodge is something I recommend.
I have becoming to this resort for years and it never disappoints. The Golf is world class. I love the Pro Shop, and spend way too much money every time I go.
We always stay in a Jacuzzi Suite with are pup and he is treated like a king.
Dining is 5 star, had the Pheasant!

Thanks for the great stay,

Jen

It is a beautiful lodge with a beautiful setting right on little Shuswap Lake, beautiful. We had a room with a balcony close to the beach and a fantastic view. The only problem was that we got a room for people with a disability which we did not need or asked for. I hated the bathroom as it had handels all over and looked very industrial. Don't give rooms for people with a disability to people who do not need or want it. We had a pedicure in the Spa and the nail polish came off one day after which was a very bad job.
Restaurant in the lodge was perfect and service was excellent. Also the golf course is phenomenal and the staff there unbelievably nice and accommodating especially the starter. Thank you, it was a great golf get away.

Just spent two nights and three days at the beautiful Quaaout Lodge, Spa and Talking Rock golf resort. This is the most serene beautiful relaxing golf resort I have been to in a long time. The hospitality that Lynn, Lionel and the rest of the staff afforded us was quite simply top notch. I would highly recommend Quaaout Lodge and Spa, Talking Rock golf to anyone, you have to experience it!

I’m writing a comprehensive review to highlight the positives and reflect items that could use a change.

The resort is small but very nice. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They have chairs set up outside on the back lawn area and also on the beach. The view is spectacular of the lake.

I booked a room with a lake view and that was really pushing it. Our room was small, no nicer than any main stream hotel, and our bed faced a wall with tv. To actually see the lake you would have to walk to the end of the room and either side-eye it or go onto the balcony. When I reserved the room, the advertisement on the site stated lake view. I expected full lake view so that was disappointing. There should be options for partial or full view. For a boutique hotel with boutique prices, I was not impressed.

The sheets were soft and comfortable but the mattress was in dire need of replacing. Both me and my husband had sore backs after. The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable.

The food was really good from the restaurant and very generous portions. Under current restrictions it is room service only and a limited menu. Hopefully the menu expands with new upcoming guidelines. I recommend going to Scotch Creek for more dining options. Its a short drive from the lodge.

The spa is fantastic. I have been twice and had probably one of the best massages I have ever had. They also have a nice line of products to purchase.

I rate this 4 because of the service, location, spa and view. The room in and of itself would be a 2.5/5

Room tip: If you want a view of the lake, make sure to ask if it is a full view or partial view. Go to the spa. Its great

Quaaout Lodge is truly a remarkable venue. The location is absolutely breathtaking, located on Little Shuswap Lake, with stunning views and atmosphere. As wedding photographers, we love all of the incredible photo backdrops to choose from. The rooms are great with lots of natural light and balconies with a lake view. The staff are so accommodating, welcoming and ever so helpful. The venue is exactly what they claim, unique, authentic, and unforgettable. There really is nothing else like it. Even the food is AMAZING! We would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore the Shuswap, experience an unrivaled resort, and those looking for that rare wedding venue!
