Great village location

Review of Sun Peaks Lodge
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 27, 2024via mobile
We have stayed at the hotel the past two years on ski holidays. Great village location right in the centre of the town but still ski in ski out. Service good, steakhouse restaurant serves good food, if a little expensive. Rooms spacious and comfortable but a little tired.
Date of stay: January 2024
Room Tip: Book a table in restaurant, always busy
Trip type: Travelled as a couple

We stayed here one night. Hotel in ski resort with not much else around.
We had a twin bedded room with the best shower in the bathroom
Tea and coffee facilities in room with fridge
    Wi-Fi in room
Room was comfortable but in the morning we was woken at 6.15 by a coach starting up out side the room

Very comfy beds and pillows, lovely rooms all mod cons. Iron and ironing board, kettle etc. Lovely walk in shower. Kettle and coffee maker. Lovely setting. Only drawback was the Hotel Restaurant was shut the night we stayed there, but good restaurants nearby

We were booked in here just for one night on our trip to Whistler. Check in was OK, but we had to pay $21 to park the car in the garage. The room was OK, two Queens. There was a small balcony that overlooked the main road, tress and river. The door to the balcony fir like a square peg in a round hole, very draughty which we thought was a problem. Turned out that the drafts were the only air conditioning the room had as the proper AC was not working, the control had a sign on it saying “No AC”, so it’s not like they didn’t know!. Very uncomfortable hot night. We found out at check in that there is not restaurant in the hotel, so no dinner and no breakfast. Didn’t spot that when booking. Ice machine down on the parking garage, who
    thought of putting it there?

    Hello PBPG,
    thank you for your review.
We do have a restaurant, actually 2. The Steakhouse, which is open May 16, 2023 to September 29, 2023 and then again in the winter season, as well as the Fondue Stube during the winter season. However, there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops available year round and this information is posted in the lobby and the elevator.
All of this information can be found on our website www.sunpeakslodge.com where we also post information about the parking options and costs, about the AC, or better, that we don't offer AC, so guests know, before they book.
Our balcony doors do open to let the fresh mountain air in and we provide a fan in each room. Usually in May it is not that hot in Sun Peaks anyway, however this year is a bit different. Unfortunately none of your issues has been addressed at the Front Desk, giving us a chance to respond right away. Due to too many noise complaints from guests regarding the ice machine being on the guests floors, we moved it to the Parking area, which is easily accessible via the elevator.

Sadly ,whilst on a tour, this wasn't really a place to stop as most of town was shut for the season. We really struggled to find somewhere to eat ,thankfully only here for 1 night. It had so.e lovely surroundings

Room tip: Go in open season for skiing ,otherwise pretty desolate

We had a 2 night stay as part of a week long family and honeymoon trip. Room was comfy and spacious. We made use of the jacuzzi tub which was nice and fun, being right in middle of the room. Obviously location was great, and housekeeping was great too! Be sure to ask for ski locks for the handy equipment storage room.

Room tip: Ask for ski locks!
