“Incredible Grizzly bear viewing”
Reviewed 10 October 2016

I was booked on the 26th September for the Grizzly bear viewing trip and was picked up from the dock at Hidden Cove Lodge where we were staying at 7.50am . Theresa and Kyle were our guides for the day , the first half hour was a bit rough but once we got amongst the Islands it was fine . On the 2/ 2 and half hour ride to Knight Inlet we saw Humpback whales and Dolphins and were fed plenty of coffee and snacks to keep us going .
On arrival at Knight inlet we transferred to flat bottomed skiffs to travel up the river , It wasn't long before we were viewing a huge Grizzly and her cub grazing and digging on the riverbank , absolutely beautiful . After watching these two for 20/25 minutes and getting some great photos we moved further up the river . We then stayed near a small island which Theresa told us was a bear hotspot , we didn't have long to wait when a bear came down river and passed by us only 15-20 metres away , this bear was quite playful and grabbed a string of moss and was playing with it in the river . This bear moved onto the island and out of sight , but again it wasn't long before another bear came up the river and appeared only 10 metres in front of us , and stood there for a while giving us great photo opportunities and so exciting to be so close . The bear wandered up the river and then charged through the river and caught a huge salmon which it dragged onto the river bank to eat and luckily I got it all on video . There were also Bald Eagles and Kingfishers flying around us while watching the bears .
After all the excitement we then moved back to the dock for the most fantastic lunch . But the day was not finished ,on the way back we saw more whales and then came upon a huge pod of Dolphins literally hundreds of them absolutely incredible .
Thank you so much Howard , Theresa and Kyle for one of the best days of my life.

“Dream come true”
Reviewed 8 October 2016

Travelling from Australia, one of the highlights of our holiday was this trip. We looked forward to seeing wild Grizzly's in a pristine environment so much and this tour did not disappoint. It was absolutely fabulous. Our guides worked hard to make sure we had the best view of the bears. Knight Inlet did not disappoint either. It is a truly beautiful. The lunch was great (very healthy) and had muffins and hot drinks. The entire day was fabulous - we loved it - worth every cent.

“Beautiful day out!”
Reviewed 4 October 2016

While we started early in the morning from Alert Bay, we were made fully awake by almost running over a pod of orcas on our way back to Telegraph Cove. Black bears on the way out and grizzlies in Knight Inlet - albeit a fair way off. A hearty and healthy lunch, and more humpbacks and orcas on the way home. Beautiful sunshine, blue ocean and green, forested islands and coves - do I need to say any more. It was pretty close to a perfect day out. I even got a little sunburnt. If we visit Alert Bay again, we will be doing this tour again.

“Second wonderful trip”
Reviewed 3 October 2016

Several years ago I took this teip and was thrilled to watch a mother and her two cubs eating and playing on the shoreline. With relatives coming from Great Britain I dearly wanted them to take this trip. As I had taken it before I almost bowed out and let them go out on their own. I am so thrilled that I didn't stay behind. We saw dolphins, humpback whales, orcas, Black Bears, heron, eagles, Herons and of course grizzly bears. The thrill was watching a grizzly put his nose and eyes under the water catch a salmon and well no more than 30 feet from us eat the salmon. I will never forget that experience. The crew, The lunch and everything was spectacular. Would highly recommend this trip.

“If you are looking for uncontaminated nature this is a must”
Reviewed 2 October 2016

I really don't want to spoil the fun too much so if you're reading this just book the tour and don't read any of the other reviews and as long as you don't suffer from sea sickness you'll have a trip to remember.
